No other passes will be honored, ie: District Passes, Coaches passes, etc.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ATHLETE ENTRIES:All Entries for the 2016 Regional Track & Field Meet will be done through DIRECTATHLETICS.COM. The Head Coach of each qualifying athlete/relay must enter their athlete(s) in the appropriate event(s). The results should be sent by the Area Meet Director to the Regional Meet Director, Scott Jackson at . Please email the results in the appropriate format to be imported into Hy-Tek. There is an online form available at the UIL website. You can type your entries into the online forms. If you elect to enter your athletes on the hand-written forms, please make sure each name is spelled correctly and is legible. DirectAthletics.com is open for each qualifying school to submit your qualifiers.Please have qualifiers in DirectAthletics by 12:00noon on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

SUBSTITUTIONS:Ifany of the top fourplaces in thearea meet will not be able to complete, the coach or school administrator whose athlete will not complete should notify the coach or school administrator of thefifth place winner in order that the vacancy may be filled. Also notify the regional meet officebyemail at of any changes. All substitutions must be made final by 12:00noon on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

COACHES’ MEETING/There will be a coaches meeting on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8:00am in Ellis Davis FH.

PACKETS:Packets (including meet information, numbers, etc.) will be available at this time. After this meeting, packets may be picked up in the official room, near the home dressing room at Kincaide Field. Coaches’ packets will include two(2) coaches’ passes per team, per UIL. Additional passes may be purchased for $10.00 each to be used by staff only. Athletes will be admitted using their bib numbers as identification.

PARKING:Team Buses and Vans should park on the Visitor Side (opposite the pressbox), and teams should enter thru Gate #3. All Visitors should park on the Home Side (Press box side), and sit on the home side. There will be no cross-over from home side to visitor side.

ELECTRONICS:Radios, video, digital camcorders, iPods, iPads, or cell phones WILL NOT BE ALLOWED at any time in the competition area, or on the infield.

FACILITIES:Dress and shower facilities will not be available at the facility.

AWARDS:Awards will be given when results are official. Participants should report to the Awards Stand immediately after results are confirmed by announcement.

TRACK USAGE

& SCHEDULING:Limited use of the running track will be available each day.

Friday 11:00am – 2:45pm

Saturday 12:30pm – 1:45pm

FINALS QUALIFICATIONS:There will be no prelims in the 800m run, 1600m run, or the 3200m run. The 3200m run Final will be held on Friday morning, April 29th. The 800m run final and the 1600m run final will be on Saturday, April 30th. For all finals events, the qualifiers will be determined by the top 8 qualifying times.

NO FALSE START RULE:The No – False Start rule is in effect. Runners will be disqualified upon any false start.

TIES:All ties must be broken through 6th Place. There is a wild-card entry admitted to the StateMeet, based upon the regional time and/or distance.

PROTEST PROCEDURES:All protests relating to matters which develop during the meet should be made at once and not later than 30 minutes after the results has been officially announced, or within 15 minutes in a preliminary round. Any such protest must be made in WRITING (including a $25.00 fee) by the head coach and submitted at the protest table. The protest area will be located at the official’s room. Verbal protests will not be acceptable. The decision made by the referee will be FINAL. In matters related to officiating pictures, the coach may ask to review the photo with the referee.

RULES:Rules are as follows:

  1. The 2016National Federation Track & Field Rules with the UIL supplement will govern the Track & field meets.
  2. Track Spikes no longer than ¼ inch are permitted, and only white tape may be used for marking. All tape should be removed immediately after the event. No Chalk is to be used on the track surface.
  3. Shot put and discus circles are concrete, so plan for the appropriate footwear.
  4. Implements should be marked with the school name. They should be turned in to the appropriate official at the implement check – in area no later than the designated times. The implement check-in area is outside the equipment room, near the south end of the track. Implement check-in days/times are as follows:

Implements will be impounded at the above times and delivered to the site prior to the event. Implements will not be released until the final in each event is concluded.

  1. Throwing event preliminaries will not throw in groups of two to five. Rather all eight competitors in each flight will throw together.
  2. Field Event check – in time is 30 minutes prior to the event at the event site.
  3. Vertical events will run 5 alive.
  4. Running event check – in is 30 minutes prior to the event. Athletes will not be permitted on the infield prior to this time. Hip numbers and bib numbers must be visible.
  5. General warm-up will not be permitted in the track infield area. The athletes’ warm-up area is located in the grass area up beyond the scoreboard. The check – in tent will also be located in that area. Athletes will only access the infield and track from the warm – up area.
  6. POLE VAULT: Weigh-Ins for the Pole Vault on Friday, 4/29/16 will be as follows:

  8. BOYS – 10:30am; Event starts at 12:00noon
