elcome to a brand new school year at Mt. Washington Elementary. I am very pleased to share my perspectives in the MW Newsflash newsletter each week. I am also thrilled to be working with your child(ren) by setting high standards for academic excellence. Through our school-parent partnership, we will provide the best education for students who welcomed me and helped me transition into my new position. I want to thank you for your overwhelming support. My goal is to make sure your child is safe, feels cared for by the Mt. Washington community, and ready to learn. My door is always open, so please stop by to say hello, give me a call, or send me an email. Let’s begin a great year together!

Yummy Chocolate

Mt. Washington’s #1 fundraiser is right around the corner! Order packets will be sent home September 14. Proven to be our most successful fundraiser, Mt. Look out for your packet!

Student Directory

The student directory is off to a great start! I would like to thank the 262 families who completed their forms at the Open House and the volunteers who made that possible.

The remaining directory forms will be sent home this week. Please watch your child’s backpack for your family’s personalized directory form. Follow the directions on the routing slip and return it as soon as possible to your child’s teacher or to the school office. The deadline is Friday, September 15.

If you do not receive the directory form or if you have any questions, please contact Ms. Jolly at (323) 123-4567 or . Thanks for your help!

Every Mt. Washington family will receive one copy of the student directory free of charge, compliments of the PTA! Order forms for additional copies are included in the personalized directory form.

Donations for Bookmarks!

Mt. Washington students can sign up to make bookmarks during their recess time after lunch. They love this activity! We are looking for donations such as stickers, stamp markers, glitter markers, metallic markers, and any other fun drawing/coloring supplies. We also need card stock/heavy gauge paper of all colors for the bookmarks themselves. Just bring it to the media center or call Ms. Freckles, Media Specialist, at (323) 765-4321 if you have any questions.
