PROFESSIONAL STAFF SALARY SCHEDULES
SALARY OF DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT
The Board of Education shall prescribe the minimum salaries of division superintendents. Of such minimum salaries the state shall pay sixty percent.
A school board may, out of local funds, supplement the minimum salary prescribed by the Board of Education. Each school board shall provide for the necessary traveling and office expenses of the division superintendent. (Code of Virginia, Sec. 22.1-67)
SALARY OF ADMINSITRATORS
The School Board shall annually approve salaries for administrators based on the following beginning July 1, 2012.
1. Salary scale for professional Central Office Instructional Personnel
A. Base salary on regular teacher scale
B. Plus one or two months depending on length of contract (11 or 12 months)
C. Plus Master’s degree supplement ($1250) or Educational Specialist ($1500), or Doctorate ($2000)
D. Plus director supplements for the following:
a. Director of Secondary and Middle Schools – $8,500.00
b. Director of Elementary Education – $8,500.00
c. Director of Programs – $8,500.00
E. Plus: $150.00/year up to 10 years of supervisory experience
2. Salary of Principals
A. High School Principal Formula
a. Base salary on regular teacher’s scale
b. Plus 2 months (12 month contract)
c. Plus $150.00/year up to 10 years of supervisory experience
d. Plus $12.00 per pupil ADM
e. Plus Master’s Degree ($1250) or Educational Specialist ($1500), or Doctorate ($2000)

B. Middle School Principal Formula
a. Base salary on regular teacher’s scale
b. Plus 2 months (12 month contract)
c. Plus $150.00/year up to 10 years of supervisory experience
d. Plus $8.00 per pupil ADM
e. Plus Master’s Degree ($1250) or Educational Specialist ($1500), or Doctorate ($2000)
C. Elementary School Principal Formula
a. Base salary on regular teacher’s scale
b. Plus 2 months (12 month contract)
c. Plus $150.00/year up to 10 years of supervisory experience
d. Plus $4.00 per pupil ADM
e. Plus Master’s Degree ($1250) or Educational Specialist ($1500), or Doctorate ($2000)
3. Salary of Assistant Principals
A. High School Assistant Principal Formula
a. Base salary on regular teacher’s scale
b. Plus .5 month (10.5 month contract)
c. Plus Master’s Degree ($1250) or Educational Specialist ($1500), or Doctorate ($2000)
d. Plus $6,000 supplement
B. Middle School Assistant Principal Formula

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TEACHERS
Teachers in the field of vocational education, where the requirement calls for occupational work experience beyond the apprenticeship level, may be allowed credit for one year of teaching experience (not to exceed 10 years total) for each two years of work experience.
