1. Guest - Eleni Kounalakis, candidate for CA Lieutenant Governor
· Endorsed by CFT; last served Obama by running embassy in Hungary (U.S. Ambassador) trying to establish democracy
· Most of her career, she worked with her father in housing
· Sits on board of CSU and UC—believes in investing in higher education
· Endorsed by Kamala Harris
2. Introductions

· Board meetings will be 1st Wed. of month 3-4 pm (1/10, 2/7, 3/7)
· Membership meetings will be 2nd Wed. of month 3-4 pm (1/17, 2/14, 3/14)
· Membership meeting notes will be available on the UC-AFT—local Davis website

a. AB119 for Unit 18 - victory!
i. Local board will receive Statewide’s plan for orientation materials and will update membership in January
*We get a half-hour orientation time after the UC’s orientation
*Carter reports a very positive experience working under Mia’s leadership
