ENTRANCE/ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(Programs of four hundred fifty (450) or more clock hours or the credit hour equivalent shall administer a basic skills examination to each student who enrolls, unless the student has provided evidence of a high school graduation diploma, general equivalency diploma, or its equivalent.)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1.Copy of High School Diploma or High School Units Transcript or a recognized equivalence.
2.Must be 18 years of age or older.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
The HVAC/R with PLC Diploma Program offers the student thetechnical and practical knowledge and skills to perform installation tasks, service and repairs in heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning situations. The program also incorporates a computer component, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).The graduates from this program will be able to fill positions as: Refrigeration Technician in manufacturing, construction firms, refrigeration and air conditioning companies, and own their own business.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This is an 85.5 credit/hours program (1,028 hours) with a length of 17 months or 68 weeks. No previous knowledge in refrigeration and A/C is required. At the end of the program the graduate is eligible to take the exams for HVAC/R Technicians in Florida.
