Tourist: Good morning! I’d like some information about museums in Yelabuga, please.

Guide: There are four museums and many mysterious places in Yelabuga, you know! What do

youwant to see?

Tourist: Well, I’m interested in painting.

Guide: OK, you can go to the ShishkinMuseum. That’s a great day out. There are really

interestingthings to see.

Tourist: Right. And when is it open?

Guide: From 10 till 6 p.m. On Sundays it opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.

Tourist: How much are the tickets?

Guide: Entrance is free!

Tourist: That’s great! And how do I get there?

Guide: Well, you can a bus. The bus station is in front of the museum.

Tourist: Where can I get a map? I don’t want to get lost.

Guide: Here you are!

Tourist: Thank you very much.

Guide: Not a tall!

Dialogue 4. At the Museum of Town’s History

Guide 1: Dear guests! We are glad to see you in our ancient town. We start ourtour from the

Museum of Town’sHistory. All expositions of our museumreflects the rich history of

thetown for 1000 years. There are a lot ofarcheological materials, historical

documents andmany interesting collections. Here you’ll see bells made in Yelabuga,

samovars, coins,medals and orders, and many other things reflects the history of the

town.

Tourist: Excuse me. I’ve got a question. What is the tower which we have seen onthe bank of

theriver?

Guide 2: It is the most ancient and mysterious monument of the past – the Yelabuzhskoye

Gorodishche. A lot of legends are dedicated to thatmysterious place. It was the

settlementof old Bulgars here. Bulgars usedto call the fortress Alabuga. It means

“piebald bull” or“angry stone”.The only tower- the Devil’s Tower, an ancient and

mysterious historical monument remained up to our days. Now it is the symbol of our

town.

Tourist: Excuse me. What famous people lived in Yelabuga?

Guide 1: Yelabuga is connected with the names of many world-famous people ofculture and art:

merchant dynasties of the Stakheyevs, the Ushkovs andthe Girbasovs, poet Marina

Tsvetaeva, cavalry girl N.Durova.

Tourist:Thanks a lot.

Guide 2: Dear guests! Our first excursion is over. We hope you like it. Andnow we can take a

bus to make our second tour of the ShishkinHouseMuseum.
