Dear Indian Family

December 18, 2015

Dear Indian Family,

It is time again to start registering for classes for the 2016-2017 school year. We are registering online again this year using Skyward Student Access. We are going to open the registration time period starting on Friday January 15, 2016, and remain open until Friday February 5, 2016. During this time frame, each student will need to log in their studentSkyward account using any computer/device that has access to the Internet to register for their classes. Students will need to reference Graduation Requirements, a tab in Student Access, to help them choose the appropriate classes. There is also another tab in Student Access labeled Portfolio will also have a current transcript posted for each student. Also, there are a series of videos on the high school website explaining the numerous elective courses opportunities.

Every student that is requesting a new PAP/AP class for the 2016-2017 school year will need to fill out a new PAP/AP form. The form has been sent electronically through Skyward to each e-mail in the system. All forms need to be turned into the counseling center by end of day, February 5, 2016.

Once in the student access these are the steps each student needs to follow to register for class.

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Scroll down to Family Access (Skyward) and click on link.

Step 3: Log into Skyward.

Step 4: Locate tabs on the left side of the page and click on “Schedule”.

Step 5: On the top right hand side of the page, click on “Request Courses for 2016-2017 in

Alvarado High School”.

Step 6: Search for the class you need and click on the class to highlight the choice.

Step 7: Click the tab “Add Course”.

Step 8: Total Requests/Scheduled needs to be 8 (one of those will be a pow-wow class).

Step 9: When you are done, just exit out of the scheduling section.

Notes: If you want to remove a class, then click on the class to highlight it and click on the tab “Remove Course”. You will also need to look at your transcript (which is in your portfolio) to make sure you do not register for a class you have already received credit in.

Students can have all questions answered in the high school counseling office during the day.

GO INDIANS!!!
