Dear AP Students –

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! We are grateful that the grant from the Boeing Corporation has been extended! As a result, students in AP math, science, and English will have their AP fees reduced by half AND by scoring a 3,4, or 5 on their AP exams they will earn $100 per qualifying score! In 2015, FHS students earned $8200! They also earned college credit, without ever setting foot on a campus! 77 students scored a 2 on the exams. We believe that with a little effort from everyone, those 2’s can become 3’s. Our goal is to help each of you earn a qualifying score on your AP exams.

To that end, we are providing you with several learning opportunities:

·  Your regular class period

·  After school study sessions

·  Saturday exam preparation sessions

We are also available to help you on an individual basis. Just let us know how we can help.

We are, once again, offering exam exemptions (FHS final exam), for those who qualify. If you choose an exam exemption, then your 4th quarter grade will become your exam grade. These are the items needed to earn that exemption:

·  Earn 22 APUs (Advanced Placement Units; 1 AP unit = 1 hour structured tutorial or Saturday Session)

·  Earn a passing grade all 4 quarters

·  Complete the Mock AP Exam

·  Register for and take the AP Exam in May

Taking an Advanced Placement class in high school is a challenge.

We know that you will work harder and longer than you do for most of your other classes.

We ask a lot from you, but we are also investing a lot in you.

AP scores were WAY up from previous years and we know that we can help you reach your goals.

Invest your time in the program.

Take advantage of all of the extra learning opportunities.

Dare to give it your best.

We believe in you! If you want it, you can do it. Colleges see that extra effort. Coaches see it. Employers see it. But, most importantly, you know it in your heart. Anybody can sit back and coast through. But, when you strive for excellence and find that you can do more than you ever dreamed, that’s a real source of pride. We want to make you proud this year!
