At the conclusion of this lesson I will be able to:

  • List key words in describing what a family is
  • Identify and give examples of what makes a strong family
  • Recall some of the different family forms

  • Brainstorm as a class what does family mean?
  • Students to copy brainstorm in their books

  • Read through “Strong Families” worksheet and give description at the end of each paragraph (elaborate)
  • Then listen to “We’re all in this together” Ben Lee on YouTube

  • Watch the YouTube Clip “For You” by Satind

  • Go through Strong families activity sheet and explain to students that using the two songs that they watched describe good and bad family characteristics and they need to use the information from the two songs to answer the “strong families” activity sheet
  • Go through questions at the end of the activity with the whole group
