NEW YORK --- The Dancing Classrooms, Inc. Board of Trustees has announced plans to honor Dr. Jephtha Tausig with the2015 Humanitarian Award at the organization's annual gala on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

Jephtha Tausig, Ph.D is a clinical psychologist in New York and Massachusetts who hasbeen active with many non-profits and philanthropic organizations. She is committedto improving the quality of life and opportunities available to others. Jephtha supportsNantucket Community Sailing, The Pearl Theater Co., Teachers College – ColumbiaUniversity, The Mount Sinai Medical Center, and numerous other charitable causes.

She has been honored by The Junior League of the City of New York Inc., The UnitedHospital Fund, and The New York State Psychological Association. Jephtha currentlyserves on the boards of The Cosmopolitan Club, The Junior League of the City ofNew York, Inc., Nantucket Community Sailing, The Mount Sinai Auxiliary Board, andThe Women’s City Club of New York.

The 2015 Benefit Dinner Dance will be hosted Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of the Pierre Hotel located at 2 East 61st Street. Dr. Jephtha Tausig will be recognized as Dancing Classrooms' Humanitarian Honoree. The evening will include a performance by the Dancing Classrooms Youth Dance Company, featuring students from 291X in the Bronx with music by the Paul Errico Orchestra. There will be a live auction by Hugh Hildesley of Sotheby's.
