CVCJF CHEER 2015 ATTENDANCE POLICIES

Please read over our attendance policies carefully. All rules ARE NOT OPEN FOR DISCUSSION, at any time. Head coaches decisions are final.

Cheerleading is a unique team sport. We don’t have extra’s on the bench waiting to play. Every girl has a role, and if someone is missing, the whole team is thrown off. This is why attendance is so very important, and why we have devoted these pages to the topic.

Any misses during camp will cause your child to miss important information. Your child will not be allowed to participate in the first game or any game after until they have learned what is missed. This decision will be made by the head coach.

MISSED REGULAR SEASON PRACTICES – September - October

Regular season practices will tentatively be held on Wednesdays.

All prior notifications of absences must be given to the coach in writing at least a week before the absence. Sick notification must happen before the practice or game.

If the head coach is not notified before the practice, your daughter will have to sit out the first quarter of the next game.

If your child is missing practice with notification, they will not be allowed to perform any new items learned from that practice. They will be asked to sit out during the time the new items are performed.

The head coach has the ability to remove a child from any portion of any routine because of multiple misses. They may also make changes necessary for the safety of all involved.

Any changes made by the head coach are not up for discussion.

SICK CHILDREN

If your child is sick, they may still attend practice, if they are able to, and just sit and watch what is being learned. This will not count as a missed practice or game.

MISSED GAMES

When a girl misses a game, this affects the rest of the squad who is depending on her to perform stunts and the half-time show. We only allow ONE missed game for the season without repercussion and only if we know about it BEFORE THE PRACTICES START THAT WEEK. After the first miss, and further misses with notification will require the girl to sit out quarter of the next game.

Any misses without proper notification will require the child to sit out the next game.

If a girl required to sit out a during a game and does not show up to the game ON TIME IN UNIFORM to sit her time out she will automatically be suspended from the program. Girls will "sit out" on the field with their coaches--not with their parents or friends in the stands.

UNIFORMS

Every cheerleader is required to attend the games in full uniform, with all other uniform items in their bag. Full uniform includes-shell, skirt, briefs, bow, poms, shoes, and no show white socks. Red bodysuits must be worn if the outside temperature is below 60 degrees. All other uniform pieces not being worn must be kept in their cheer bag. (Example- bodysuit, warm-ups, raincoat). Because the weather can change drastically in a short amount of time, they may have to add, or take off certain pieces during a game. Any cheerleader showing up to a game without all uniform pieces will not be allowed to participate in the game and will have to sit on the sidelines with the coaches.

LEAVING AFTER HALFTIME

All cheerleaders are required to participate in the full game. Any requests to leave after halftime must be addressed to the head coach no later than the practice before the game. We will allow one (1) leave after halftime per season. Any requests after that will require the cheerleader to sit out part of the next game.

LATE ARRIVALS

Cheerleaders are asked to arrive to the games 45 minutes before the start of the game. This time is used to review and make any last minute changes for the game. You must notify the coach if you know you will be late. Anyone arriving late without notification will have to sit out the first quarter of that game.

Any extenuating circumstances that may arise during the season that may affect a child’s participation will be dealt with on an individual basis.
