Orientation:

  1. Report to the Anesthesiology Education Office (RRUMC 3304) at 7:00 a.m. You will be provided with scrubs, instructions for the week, and the Anesthesiology Checklist. It is important that you be on time to avoid any delays for Monday morning cases.
  2. Tuesday Didactic Lecture is held from 3:30 – 5:00 at various locations. Please confirm with Lucelva Mendez where the location will be and do not forget to sign-in.
  3. Absences. No absences are allowed except for Doctoring. Absences during the week may be made up during the weekend with advance approval from the Course Director. Requests must be made during orientation. Attendance checks are made daily please report to the Education Office.
  4. Textbook. The Basics of Anesthesia textbook may be checked out form the Education Office. Medical students scheduled to be at Olive View must return the textbook on Thursday.
  5. Anesthesiology Checklist. It is your responsibility to obtain the Attending’s or Resident’s initials. Checkmarks will not be accepted. Failure to submit the checklist at the end of the rotation will result in NO credit for the rotation. Return the Checklist to the Education Office.
  6. Case Assignments. Cases will be pre-assigned. Check the bulletin board at RRUMC 3304 or the MOR desk between 3:00 and 3:30 every day for the next day’s case assignments.
  7. Course Requirements. Achievement of satisfactory performance in the course is based on completion of the Checklist and no unexcused absences. Faculty will be polled regarding your clinical performance.
