Course structure and requirementsThis course comprises 72 points structured in two parts. Part A: Mastery knowledge (48 points) and Part B: Application studies (24 points).
Students may apply for up to 24 points credit under Part B if they have completed:
- An Australian honours degreein a cognate discipline
- Qualifications and/or experience or a satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent.

Part B: Application studies (24 points)Students must complete either (a) or (b) below.
(a)Four units of electives
Students must complete four units (24 points) of electives at either Level 4 or 5 offered by the Monash Business School or across the University provided they have the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on admission to the units
To align with professional practice and facilitate students sitting for the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) exams, students are recommended to complete electives from the following list:

(b)A research pathway (24 points)
The research pathway is not available to full-time students commencing in Semester 1. Students must maintain at least a 70 percent weighted average mark (WAM). In addition to meeting this prerequisite, theymust be accepted for entry by the Course Director John Watson ().

You may exit this course early and apply to graduate with one of the following awards, provided that you have satisfied the requirements for that award during your enrolment in the master’s course:
- Graduate Certificate in Business (B4001) after successful completion of 24 credit points of study.
- Graduate Diploma in Business (B5001) after successful completion of 48 credit points of study.
Responsibility for unit choice

Research Pathway entry requirement
Students wishing to undertake the research pathway must maintain at least a 70 per cent weighted average mark (WAM). In addition to meeting academic pre-requisites, selection into the research pathway is based on the outcome of a formal interview with a panel constituted by the Course Director John Watson ().

You may exit this course early and apply to graduate with one of the following awards, provided that you have satisfied the requirements for that award during your enrolment in the master’s course:
- Graduate Certificate in Business (B4001) after successful completion of 24 credit points of study.
- Graduate Diploma in Business (B5001) after successful completion of 48 credit points of study.
