Bellringer: EDE #1 – Neptune’s Discovery (Everyday Edits – These go into the “EOC Prep” portion of your binder! These daily reviews will help to improve your writing skills! )

Kickoff to the Copper Sun Unit

·  View the trailer for the book

·  In groups of three, define novel vocabulary terms and research the topics of the Charleston slave market, Cape Coast Castle and rice production in SC. Students may need the use of cell phones that connect to the Internet for this activity.

·  Create a research report, based on your findings.

·  Switch groups and present your topic to classmates who have different topics.

·  Take notes based on your classmates’ presentations.
