Welcome to the 7th Cedar Park Coffee House season. Be sure to mark all the dates in your calendar; you won’t want to miss a single evening!
Jan. 27/12“Nighshift”
Returning to our stage after rave reviews last season, Karen Cromar, Glen Bowser and Dan Gallant make up this exceptionally talented Hudson-based trio, known collectively as “Nightshift”. Their versatility, eclectic repertoire of popular songs - new and old - and rich harmonies will blow your mind. They are regular performers at The Willow Inn in Hudson, The Calistoga Grill on the West Island and L’Ouragan in Montreal. If you missed them last year, make it a point to catch their act!
Feb. 25/12“Love is in the Air”
Ward off the chilly winds of February by keeping love alive even after Valentine’s Day is over! We begin the evening with Jeanne Taylor & Richard Bastien performing the soulful music of the late, great Eva Cassidy.
“Words of the Season”
Intrigued? Allow Bob Birnie and Richard Bastien - two of Cedar Park’s most powerful raconteurs – to move, amuse, inform as they recite some of their favourite works. To further enhance your experience, Peter Purich and Jill Rothberg will provide musical accompaniment and interludes.
Mar. 30/12“Just Plain Folk”
Reminisce with Sam and Ernie Kirkham and Marco Purich, as they take you back to the folk era. Clapping of hands, waving of candles and singing along are requisite forms of participation.
“Broadway Melodies”
Hear some of your favourite Broadway tunes as performed by Peggy Johnston-LeRoy, Cathie Weldon, Lisa and Nancy Walsh, with perhaps a few surprise guests.
Apr. 27/12“The Purich Family Band”
We just can’t get enough of them! It’s the Purich Family Band: Cathy, Peter, Marco and Leo. Once again they’ll be sharing with us their remarkable talents and enthralling us with new selections. Count the number of instruments they each play. And don’t let Leo off the stage without playing his very own composition he wrote for the Coffee House! This family has talent by the bucketful!
May 25/12“The Far Side Singers”
Haven’t heard them yet? You don’t know what you’re missing. Be sure to catch this vibrant group. They’ll make you stomp your feet and sing every number with them. It’s almost become a traditional end to the Coffee House season!
