  1. Notes from last meeting (Feb 23, 2017)
  • Jan provided an update on Enrollment cap in Churchville PS. The last date for acceptance was March 10. New students will be enrolled in McClure Public School
  • Pizza: New vendors may be invited for consideration for potentially supplying next year 2017-18. Vendors have to supply in accordance to Peel District School Board guidelines
  • Jan informed that the money raised through sale of food items (such as pizza) helps in supporting some of the activities such as sport team uniforms, painting events or trips
  1. School report
  • Fundraising: Approx. $4,000 have been raised. Jan informed that portable classrooms have new water coolers now - and it's been appreciated by both teachers and students. Drone is also now available. Painting for 4 Square activity will be completed soon.
  • Peel Board is now planning to install Water Bottle Dispensing stations in the school. This item was the most expensive item on the fund raising objectives, and it will now be completed by Peel School Board
  • It appears that fundraising donations through Cash On Line has lagged. Though Churchville PS has over 95% registration (its highest in Peel School Board) it appears that some parents may still prefer to pay cash donation
  • It was noted that Cash On Line system has some limitations. As an example it was informed that only 4 items can be selected for a transaction. Also when a parent called the telephone # for support the phone call was not picked up. School will suggest having an email support option as well
  • School trips for 2017 have been scheduled

4. Other business

1. Jan informed that Power Down day is being scheduled for May 10

2. Treasurer report is due mid-June. Report will address the Parent Engagement Fund

3. There will be no change to timings (informed by School Board)

4. Library system: does not indicate the child's name for overdue books

5. Attendance system: does not indicate the child's name - only grade is noted.

This is challenging for families when they have multiple children in same grade.
