EXPERIENCE

INDEPENDENT PETROLEUM LANDMAN - April 2002 – Present

Field Landman, Crew Chief, Land Manager and Business Owner

Land Manager in charge of land department with managerial duties, overseeing both the lease records and division order functions and managing all aspects of the day to day land work, including leasing, broker supervision, contract negotiation and preparation, lease data entry into Visual Land Pro, handling of diverse projects (State, Federal, Fee) including liaison with working interest partners and mineral owners, negotiation/consummation of trades for drilling, property acquisition and divestiture, preparation of joint operating agreements, farmouts/farm-ins, pooling/communitization agreements, assignments/bills of sale, letter agreements, division order preparation and tracking, and title curative.

Title examination and curative (State, Federal, Fee), lease negotiation and purchase, land/division order consultant. Title examination and preparation of computerized title summaries for use by the attorneys in title opinion preparation. Field title review and document examination, working alone and with paralegals, for the preparation of court cases. Organization of the law firm’s title information into a readily-accessible computerized system.

ROW acquisitions with duties including Due Diligence, Negotiations, Route Selection, Damage Compensation;

Prior to becoming a petroleum landman, I worked as a paralegal for 12 years, of which 6 of those years were spent working with title attorneys and assisting in writing title opinions.
