Overview

The Governance Code Boot Camp is an 18 month programme of peer-supports and resources to support Irish charities to transition to an era of greater transparency and more challenging regulation

  1. CMRF Crumlin will provide facilities and supports for networking sessions, and share leadership and learning with the participating organisations
  2. The Wheel will provide peer support for participating charities
  3. Professional services companies provide expertise into the ‘buddy system’.
  4. Practical support of information sessions, mentoring & motivational check-ins provided to those in the programme.
  5. Core training workshops provided for 2 organisational delegates by The Wheelat a significantly reduced rate of €400.00 (per organisation)

At the end of the programme the organisations which have gone through the Boot Camp will be engaging in the highest standards of transparency to the public through:

  • Compliance with the Governance Code and Fundraising Principles
  • Using the Statement of Recommended Practice(SORP) for Charities audit standard
  • Confidently engaged with the Charities Regulatory Authority, The Lobbying Regulator, and all applicable regulatory frameworks.

The Governance Code Boot Camp: The Engagement

The Participating organisation commits their organisation to:

  1. Achieving full compliance with the Governance Code and Fundraising Principles if applicable and becoming fully compliant within the 18 months
  1. Engaging in a series of structured learning opportunities for their own board and staff through templates, learning materials, information, advice, training - all provided as part of the ‘Boot Camp’ programme
  1. Commitment to a standard of transparency on their website and other public communication channels; including planning and review documents, published materials and audited accounts (based on the principles outlined in the Charity SORP).
  1. Attending 4 two-hour Dublin-based peer and networking sessions over the 18 months co-ordinated by The Wheel and, delivered in partnership with Sector Supporters
  1. Attending 1x The Wheel's newly launched Regulation, Resources & Recognition 2-day event;1 x Fund Development event;1 x Measuring Impact event; and 1 x Trustee training event co-ordinated and delivered by The Wheel

The Governance Code Boot Camp: The Invitation

CMRF Crumlin & The Wheel are now inviting applications from community and voluntary sector organisations in to apply for the Governance Code Boot Camp.

Completed application forms must be submitted to on or before Weds. 17rd August 2016

All applicants will be communicated with to inform them of the outcome of their application within 2 weeks of the closing date for completed applications.
