INSTRUCTIONS

Objective:

The objective of the Capstone DesignProject Fund is to improve the quality of small group 4th year projects by supplementing current sources of funding.

Eligible Applicants:

4th year capstone project groups

Projects exceeding 5 participants are not open for consideration under the Capstone Design Project Fund.

Eligible Expenses:

Equipment costs, conference fees, materials for construction and manufacturing services

Funding Availability:

A total of $5,000.00 dollars is available under the Capstone DesignProject Fund.

This total may be divided amongst numerous projects.

PLEASE NOTE - Funding is considered taxable income if your project does not have an account with Carleton University or if the professor overseeing your project does not have an account with Carleton University.

Deadlines:

January 19. 2018Applications to the Capstone Design Project Fund due

January 31, 2018Decisions made regarding allocations of funds

February 9, 2018Notifications to applicants

February 28, 2018Funding transferred to home department of applicant

March 31, 2018Successful applicants have until this date to submit receipts, complete, sign and have signed the required forms for reimbursement

Proposal Format:

  • Proposals can be a maximum of 2 pages, single-spaced.
  • Acceptable fonts and corresponding minimum font size include:
  • Arial (10 point)
  • Times New Roman (12 point).
  • Please use a consistent heading format. This makes it easy for the allocation committee to find the information they need.
  • Annex A (Financial Summary) must accompany proposal and must detail all sources of funding that have been requested and allocated to the project.

PLEASE NOTE - it is advised to limit the use of overly technical language, as your audience may not always understand the particular methodological nature of your project.

Please explain why your project requires additional funding.

3.Impact of Funding

Please describe the impact of having your proposal selected for funding.

4.Project Continuity

Please state whether this project is expected to continue after this academic year. Note that projects not planned to continue in the future will be considered equally to continuing projects.
