Include any checklists given with all items. Do not hand in any item until ALL have been completed. Be sure to check off each item as you get it and/or have Mrs. Phillips initial any items that she witnessed you completed on the internet but could not print off. With each activity except #2, 3, 8, 10, write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences minimum) that explains what you learned from this activity (something new!) and how it has helped you with your personal career investigation.

1)Go to and sign up for a free account with this organization(if you have t). The sign up is on the right side of the screen. Take some time to explore this website as it is an extremely useful tool. Go to “My School” and take the Personality Quiz. Print or save any results.

2)Go to Sign up for the program. Find a scholarship that you could qualify for by either using the recent updates list or scholarship search. Print off the scholarship information and an application form (if available).

3)Go to a post-secondary institution of your choice and request some information to be mailed to you whether it is in regards to some general information, residency information (if applicable), and information specific to a program for an institution of your choice.

4) Complete two career investigations. Ask Mrs. Phillips for the worksheetsto do this (if you don’t already have them).

5)Complete on Educational Institution Investigation.

6)Go to alis.gov.ab.ca…High School Students….Career Planning Tools…Self-Assessment Tools….Complete/print off/save results from TWO inventories.

7) Interview an adult in the occupation that you would like to consider for your future. Complete the interview worksheet provided for you by Mrs. Phillips.

8)Fill out an application form for a scholarship you can qualify for or fill out one that Mrs. Phillips can provide for you.

9)Register on myPass with Mrs. Wambolt.

10)Make a list of all the possible ways you can get funding to go to a post-secondary institution after high school. Who/where can you get funding? How much funding will you receive from each place? When will you receive this money?

11)Update/complete your resume, cover letter, and job application form so that it is current. Print off a copy of each.
