Call for 12 contemporary dance choreographers
to work with undergraduate students.
Academic years 2016/2017 – 2017/2018
Final date for applications: 20 October, 2016.

The National Academy of Dance (A.N.D.), in the context of the pilot program set out by its constituent School for Contemporary Dance, presents the project Resid’AND, intended to promote the mandatory artistic activities for students of the university-level contemporary dance program.
The project foresees the programming of artistic activities additional to the end-of-year performances, which will occur during the academic year, in order to provide students with the possibility to grow and verify their technical and artistic path.
Resid’AND intends to employ choreographers external to the Academy – one for each (Triennio) class – by means of an open call for artists.

CALL

The call is intended for artists active in contemporary dance research and resident either within or outside of Italy.
The project was conceived with the desire to offer to artists involved with dance language an opportunity to create and present their work within a context of high artistic profile.
The project will include a residency as well as a presentation of the work at the Theatre Ruskaya at the National Dance Academy and possibly other venues of excellence...

Theatre Ruskaja at the National Dance Academy is designated as the venue for rehearsals and for the show.
Choreographers will work for approximately four weeks – 10 hours per week divided between 3 or 4 days, plus the hours necessary for staging and performance, for a total of 50 hours ,with the obligation to use all the students of the respective class.
