GROUNDS

Stabling - Stalls do not include bedding. We encourage you to order bedding IN ADVANCE.

For Feed and Bedding Call Facility at (916) 682-1403. There are no outside orders for shavings accepted on the grounds.

Haul In – Horses on grounds without a stall will be charged a $25 grounds fee per day. Haul ins may not park in the barn area, only in the designated areas.

Animal Control – Dogs must be kept on leashes at all times.

Memberships/Licenses Associate Membership, WCRHA and NRHA membership/Comp License will be available for purchase or renewal during the show

SHOW Fees –All horses entered in the show will be charged for State of California Drug Fee. $5.00 Per Horse and NRHA Drug Fee: $7.00 per horse

VIDEOGRAPHER FEES – Due to the current cost of having a videographer at the show, the video feel will be $8.00 per run. This will be calculated at the end of the show in the show office. (Example : If your horse shows 4 separate times at the show, your fee will be 4 x $8.00 = $32). *Concurrent classes are 1 run.

Post-Entries– All entries received after April 26th will incur a $35 post entry fee per horse. Entries at the show will be charged a late entry fee of $35 per horse.

Returned Checks– Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be charged $25 PLUS other fees incurred by the bank.

Refunds– If you pre-entered and need to cancel, Cancellationsmade before the start of the1st day of the show will receive a refund of all payments except the office fee.

Class Information

Scratches – For exhibitors that need to scratch a class, this needs to be done AT THE OFFICE PRIOR to the start of the class to receive a class / judge fee refund. Otherwise, NO REFUNDS! If the class has started and you scratch the class – NO Refunds. If a horse needs to scratch classes due to medical reasons, this must be addressed with the show manager for a full refund. There will not be a refund for stalls / bedding or office fees.

Adds–An exhibitor may add to any class. To be in the draw, you must enter prior to 5pm. If you add after the draw is posted, you will go first. An exhibitor adding classes on Sunday, will be added AT the end of the draw for that class.

Posting of draws will be done at the back gate and at the show office. Every effort will be made to post the draw online no later than 8pm. The draws will be posted on and west coast designated site if available and time allows to do so. We appreciate your understanding.

CONCURRENT CLASSES

If an exhibitor enters a class that is designated concurrent, the exhibitor is only showing once to the judge and will only pay one judges fee.

If an exhibitor enters multiple categories for a concurrent set of classes, the rider is only showing once to the judge and will receive the same score in all class categories entered.

It is the exhibitors responsibility to confirm entry in all appropriate categories on a concurrent class PRIOR to showing.

Judges Fees: When you enter concurrent classes (such as Limited Open + Intermediate Open, Non Pro + Prime Time Non Pro) you only have to pay the judge’s fee once.

MARES CLASS / GELDINGS CLASS - For time purposes these classes will be limited to the 1st 25 entries received. If there is not enough to fill, post entries will be available at the show. This is an open non-categorized - non membership class. Anyone can ride. No Video fee applied. Ribbons only.

PRIME TIME CLASSES

To enter and show in prime time class category, the rider/exhibitor must meet eligibility requirements per NRHA rules. The exhibitor does NOT need to cross enter other categories to show prime time.

DERBY CLASSES

A horse rider combination may enter all eligible categories and pay only 1 judge fee (highest), or Enter a single category and pay that entry and judge fee only. Please contact show office for more information.

BROOKSIDE SPECIALTY CLASSES & Awards

* TRIPLE CROWN. Brookside is offering a special award for high scoring exhibitorsin the Rookie Professional class. To qualify the exhibitor MUST show at all 3 reining shows held at Brookside - Rein for the Roses, WCRHA Star Spangled Slide and the Summer Rein. The award will be based on total score from all 3 shows and will be presented at the Summer Rein show in August.

* DAILY DOUBLE. Brookside is offering a special award for high scoring exhibitors in the Brookside Green as Grass. To qualify the exhibitor MUST meet eligibility HOSTED by Brookside - Rein for the Roses and Summer Rein. The award will be based on the total score from both shows and will be presented at the Summer Rein show in August.

* BROOKSIDE GREEN AS GRASS HORSE. This is an open class for 5&U horses in their first year showing. Any horse in their 1st calendar year (defined as January 1-December 31) of showing in reining.Non Pro riders are restricted to the rules of ownership as stated in the NRHA Non Pro Conditions.See NRHA rulebook for reference. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses shown in the bridle must be shown one handed or 2 handed in snaffle bit or hackamore. No jackpot. If you enter the show pen to school, please let the announcer know. If schooling becomes excessive you will be excused.

general SHOW RULEs

This is a WCRHA Affiliate show #3 and will follow WCRHA general show guidelines. This is a designated NRHA approved show, and current NRHA rules shall prevail in all matters including, but not limited to: eligibility of horse and rider, breaking of ties, use of illegal equipment, abuse or mistreatment of any horse, unsportsmanlike conduct, and failure to pay.

Prize Money: Prize money will be paid per the NRHA Payback percentages as noted in the NRHA 2017 Handbook once the show is validated by NRHA. Prize monies will be mailed to owner of the horse at the address received on the entry form. PLEASE BE SURE IT IS CORRECT. Ensure that the correct SSN or TAX ID is provided.

Schedule & Classes:Classes will be run according to the rules and specifications listed in the NRHA 2017 Handbook.

Memberships: Membership in WCRHA is not required to participate at the show; however to receive points to be applied to Year End awards membership(s) is required and/or to qualify for the NRHA Western Region Affiliate Finals.

NRHA membership is required for all classes designated NRHA. MUST present a current card OR purchase membership at the show.

WCRHA Green as Grass class is not jackpotted (no winnings paid out); also, NRHA Youth classes are not jackpotted (no winnings paid out – NRHA Youth points awarded)

Paid Warmups: Timeslots will be assigned on a First-Come, First Served basis per postmark on entries received.

Each time slot is 5 minutes: 30 seconds to enter the pen, 4 minutes riding time, 30 seconds to exit. Please be courteous to the next rider and exit promptly when time is called. Additional times may be added at the gate with announcer/time keeper. Horses entered in the show will have priority. Non- showing horses, Rider must prepay or have open check on file with show secretary and sign a waiver of liability

Schooling Ring #2 will be closed during the show. The Warm up rings and Grand Prix area will be available.

NON SHOWING HORSES: Horses not entered in any class are allowed on the show grounds under the following conditions: (1) brought with trainer – AND are charged for stalls, schooling runs. 2) non-showing haul-in riders must check in at the horse show office and sign a waiver and pay the day fee of $25.00 and park in designated areas.
