Bendigo Lady Braves - Head Coach

The Champions IGA Bendigo Lady Braves are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Head Coach for the 2018 season.

One of Australia’s most successful basketball programs, the Bendigo Basketball Association, is seeking expressions of interest from coaches to take responsibility for our Women’s program competing in theSouth East Australian Basketball League (SEABL), Australia’s premier winter basketball competition.

The Bendigo Braves enjoy a strong fan base and significant community connection and support. The club brand is highly visible with a strong media presence and community engagement. The club is committed to providing a development pathway to the highest level for players, coaches, referees and administrators.

This role is responsible for the development and execution of the Bendigo Lady Braves basketballprogram to foster a culture of leadership on the court and in the community. In this role you will partner with key stakeholders to deliver the strategic objectives of the Club to build a stronger, healthier, happier and safer community through basketball.

This is a multi-faceted role with potential opportunities to contribute to the wider Bendigo basketball community through your involvement in junior athlete and coaching development programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

-Coaching, education and conditioning of the Champions IGA Lady Braves

-Implement and guide the short and long term planning of our senior women’s program

-Development of a robust strategic training plan

-Scouting opposition teams identifying key strengths and weaknesses

-Instil a strong work ethic and team orientated discipline

-Engage with sponsors, media, local basketball community and other key stakeholders to foster a positive image of the Club, ensuring the Club is well regarded in the community and supports the message to young people of leading an active, healthy lifestyle

-Provide regular reports to the General Manager – Sport and BBA Board reviewing training, game and pathway development.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

-NCAS Level 2 accreditation or similar

-A proven record coaching at the senior elite level

-High level leadership, and strategic planning skills

-Excellent communication, administration and management skills

-Commitment and professionalism.

Remuneration is negotiable upon the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
