At Salford Royal we have an aim to be the safest organisation in the National Health Service, through providing safe, clean and personal care to every patient, every time. We are making excellent progress on our journey to achieve this target, thanks to our dedicated workforce of 7,000 remarkable staff who provide our hospital and community services.

We are very proud to say that Salford Royal was only the second Acute Trust in the country to be rated outstanding by the health and social care regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2015. We were the first Trust in the North of England and the first Trust nationally with both acute and community services. CQC inspectors found our services to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led; a fantastic accolade and one we are all immensely proud of.

Our nurses and doctors are empowered to lead from the front-line and our staff satisfaction levels remain some of the best in the country. For four consecutive years, we have been rated in the top three in the country for overall staff engagement in the annual NHS Staff Survey, which analyses what our people think about their ability to contribute to improvements at work – whether they recommend Salford Royal as a place to work for or be treated and how motivated they feel at work. We’re right behind staff members who want to develop their skills, experience and qualifications and are delighted to see members of our team regularly achieving prestigious national and international awards and honours.

It is important that our facilities match our high standards of care and we have invested more than £200 million to improve our buildings and environment for patients, visitors and staff, providing modern, state of the art wards and departments.

We are committed to pursuing quality improvement and as a consequence of our hard work, we are gaining a national reputation as a leader in patient safety. Our achievements include lower mortality rates and ever increasing patient satisfaction.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for considering Salford Royal as a place to work and we look forward to welcoming you, should your career path lead you to our wonderful organisation.
