Dear Frank:
(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I) in response to the Reference (a) above -- very glad to receive your msg after so long absence.
I also thank you for your msg (ATTACHMENT II) in response to the Reference (b) above.
(2) I greatly appreciate your continuing strong interest in our projects.
Sorry for my belated reply — I was busy to finish up my paper (Reference (b) above) for its deadline on 4/15th (today).
(3) About the localization strategy mentioned in your msg of ATTACHMENT I, pls visit Reference (f) above.
Although I am not sure if they used any system analysis or system dynamics simulation approach, this shows a good example how to deal with a local environmental problem.

BTW, such approach and analysis could be made with a cause-and-effect diagram as shown by Figure 3 of the Reference (d) above. This would particularly be useful for training of would-be decision-makers in K-12 schools — as part of our peace gaming program, which will have a following two tier system;

  1. One for training young would-be decision makers for understanding interwoven world phenomena with rational analysis and critical thinking, and then in crisis management, conflict resolution, and negotiation techniques basing on "facts and figures" and
  2. The other for helping decision makers constructing a globally distributed decision-support system for positive sum/win-win alternatives to conflict and war.

Yes, I agree with you that, after current financial crisis, we hope to have a new world order, particularly in financial, economic and trading fields with solid social mission of public services as President Obama advocates, for the coming decades.
(4) We are now in the midst of fund raising as those three persons mentioned in the Reference (b) above are working on it.
As soon as we secure a fund, we plan to hold a planning workshop at Polytechnic Institute of NYU in Brooklyn on general matters, and another one in Nigeria on their national policy analysis as mentioned in my paper of Reference (b) above — hopefully both workshops to be held in this year.
We have excellent simulationists and good models to start with for our projects. Next step is to configure the procedures at the planning workshop how to further the projects.
(5) The workshop at Polytechnic Institute would also discuss on the inter-linkages of various country simulation models as depicted in Reference (c) above.
Along this line, we may need to have a help from Apple — see Reference (e) above.

This is why I appreciate greatly to receive your msg (ATTACHMENT II).

I have mentioned of the use of Beowulf mini supercomputers for our projects — see in References (b), (d) and elsewhere in my previous list distributions. Virginia Polytechnic stacked up almost 1,000 Apple computers to form a supercomputer. We may not need that many machines, but we hope to have some of those approaches at our various colleagues’ locations in developing countries.

Pls also see the following which mentioned that I initiated the concept of GRID technology;

McLeod, J. (2000). “Power (?) Grid!” Simulation, September, pp 178-179.

(6) In my paper mentioned in the Reference (b) above, I mentioned of the former Vice President Al Gore — one of your good friends. Our initial project of peace gaming with our Nigerian colleagues is to verify his proposition as mentioned in it.
You may ask your friend at Apple Computer to approach to Al Gore, since he is a senior VP of the Apple.
Our peace gaming is NOT childish arcade type gaming, but more serious one like the War Gaming of Pentagon, and Al Gore indicated some possibility of help from the Pentagon as mentioned in the Reference (b) above.
If Apple can participate in our project, we can discuss any matters accordingly.
(7) Pls update your address listed above.
Many thanks again for your msgs.
Keep in touch.
Best, Tak

Hi Tak,
Happy Easter! Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Reading this recent email, I've copied a few points from your emails and added comments and questions.
... (3) Urgent need is global education and capacity building for global villageto get familiar with interdependencies of various world phenomena, -- thus, our GUS and GCEPG/GSEEED projects. I couldn't agree with you more.
..."de-globalization"suggests a focus on a "Local-ization" strategy.
... While Stiglitz agrees that the removal of barriers to free trade and theintegration of national economies can be a force for good and the potential to enrich everyone in the world, "the way globalization has been managed, including international trade agreements that have played such a large role in removing those barriers, and policies that have been imposed on developingcountries" need to be reevaluated.
There is no question that the trend toward increased integration of capitalmarkets seems at a standstill as the financial crisis worsens.
Tak, I am still available and in a very strong position to help you to move the yourglobal education and capacity building for global villageto get familiar with interdependencies of various world phenomena, -- thus, our GUS and GCEPG/GSEEED projects forward. I really believe in you and your projects. What is keeping you from realizing these projects to their fullest potential? Is it lack of funding? Is their a full time portal for GUS andGCEPG/GSEEED projects? Are they up and running? Are they interactive the way you want?If not why not?Exactly what are your specific barriers to implementing GUS GCEPG / GSEED on a full blown basis? What exactly do you need?
peace,
Frank Melli

Subject: Paper for the proceedings of the International Conference on E-learning in the Workplace (ICELW) at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, NY on June 10th-12th, 2009.

Dear Tak,
I am not sure if you received my recent email or not?
Yesterday I met with an APPLE PRO national member person here in Charlottesville Virginia. He said he could work a national deal to get your Peace Gaming software given in new Apple Computers nationwide. He had some questions about are you wanting to give it away as a free game on-going or is it a trial version that people have to buy later? He had a couple of other questions about rights/permission.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Frank Melli
