Approval of Minutes from Council Meeting held on March 2, 2017

  • A motion was made to accept the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded and carried out unanimously.

  • USM is hosting a workshop “Taking Student Learning Outcomes Assessment to the Next Level”on Wednesday, April 19thfrom8:00 am to 4:00 pmat Bowie State University. If interested in participating please contact Nancy O’Neil .

GSA Reports

UMB(Morgan Bunting)

  • Graduate Research Conference took place on March 13, 2017. Faculty judged students’ oral and poster presentations. The UMB GSA is looking to incorporate changes similar to UMBC’s GRC for next year. Nominations for new board members will be discussed at next month’s meeting. The Meyerhoff Spring Game Night and Fundraiser will be on Friday April 14, 2017.

  • GRC took place on March 29, 2017. There were panels who discussed different topics.

Long Range Planning and New Programs

  • MPS for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership – Allison Jones
  • The Long Range Planning Committee recommends approval. A motion was made, seconded and carried out unanimously. A recommendation was made to reformat the layout of the agenda having the New Courses Committee present before the Long Range Planning Committee.
