This form in its entirety consists of 3 pages. Each page must be filled out in full, signed and dated where indicated, for a judge to be placed on the Approved Judges List. Pre-approval is not required, but is strongly recommended to ensure the qualifications have been met prior to apprenticing. This would also ensure that you will be compensated per the judges’ expense guidelines for volunteering to apprentice judge. Please send pre-approval requests (information on Page 1 and 2) to the Judges Commission Chairlisted at the end of this form. It is recommended that the apprentice judge retain a copy of this form as a new one will need to be submitted for each level of apprenticeship requested. Anyone working to become an Approved Judge must gather the appropriate documentation and submit thiscompleted form to the Judges Commission Chairlisted at the end of this form. Do not leave this with the local HT secretary!

Apprentice’s APLA Judging Experience

  • All prospective judges shall be required to apprentice with approved judges until approved for each standard level prior to becoming an approved judge and judging for that respective level. The apprentice and judging steps are detailed as they must apprentice and be approved at CPR, then judge at least once at CPR before proceeding to APR apprenticeship and judging an APR test, and then MPR apprenticeship before judging a MPR test.
