GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING YOUR APPLICATION

Before you complete your application, determine whether your grant request is consistent with Cardinals Charities’ goals and objectives.

Arizona Cardinals Charities supports programs designed to improve the quality of life and enhance opportunities for children, women and minorities in the state of Arizona.

Grants are awarded on an annual basis in response to applications from non-profit 501(c)(3) qualified organizations whose goals and programs meet our mission statement. We make every effort to direct our contributions where they can have the greatest impact while addressing the most critical needs. Funding is limited to the success of Cardinals Charities’ own fund-raising efforts during the year.

General Guidelines for Beneficiaries

  • Organizations must be exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code
  • At least 75% percent of funding must be spent in Arizona
  • Grant application will be limited to once each year; however, organizations may reapply each year
  • Grants of special programs are preferred
  • Proposals for $5,000 or less are preferred
  • All grant recipients will be required to complete a six-month grant progress report to be eligible for future funding.

Grant Deadlines, Timelines and Communication

  • The Grant cycle will open February 1st 2012.
  • All grants must be mailed to the address below by July 1st, 2012. No emailed or faxed applications will be accepted.

  1. Typed cover letter with your two-page application that includes a summary of the purpose of your request. What will you do? Why (what is the need)? Where? With whom? When?
  2. Completed application form. Typed applications only please.
  3. Copy of your IRS determination letter indicating 501 (c) (3) status.
  4. Report of last year’s program, President’s report to the Board or similar information.
  5. Budget for this project.
  6. Most recent audited report.
  7. List of Officers and Board Members, their professions and places and addresses of employment.
