Wearable Runway Art Competition

Imagination Runway is the Newark Arts Alliance’s 2017 fall fundraising event. As part of the evening’s festivities, we’re hosting a fun and imaginative fashion competition! Entrants can show off their creativity and sense of style by producing an original, wearable piece of runway art. A $250 cash prize will be awarded.

Items must be wearable and you or your designee must model your entry in our fashion show on the evening of our fundraising event, October 7, 2017. The imaginative use of any art or craft medium is highly encouraged! The competition is open to both members and non-members of the Newark Arts Alliance.

Objective

To produce a one-of-a-kind art piece showing creativity, originality, spirit, class, and style!

Entries must be a wearable garment such as a coat, dress, pants, skirt, shirt, etc. Accessories such as shoes, hats, jewelry, headbands, and scarves may be used to complete your outfit but will not be considered alone for entry. Creative techniques and workmanship, as well as fit and coordination of the outfit, will be considered in selecting the winner.

Judging Criteria and Selection of Winner

Judging criteria include quality, creativity, originality, and spirit of the work.

A fashion show, with judging, will be held during the NAA’s fall fundraiser. The winners will be determined by a combination of a judging panel comprised of UD REP professional staff and the popular vote of attendees.

Awards

A $250 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the contest. Gift certificates will be awarded to the 2nd and 3rd place entries.

Entry Form and Fee

All entrants must submit the following:

1.  A completed Wearable Runway Art entry form, including a written description of the garment, any accessories, and information about the artist(s) creating the entry.

2.  An entry fee, payable by check or credit card. Make checks payable to Newark Arts Alliance.

Students and NAA Members $15.00

Non-members $25.00

·  Each entry may be designed/created by a single artist or a small group. One entry per person/group only.

·  Limit of 20 entries total will be accepted. Checks will only be cashed or credit charges processed if your entry is accepted. No refunds after entry fee is paid.

·  Entrants must be 18 years old or over.
