AMA Innovation Award 2015: Submit Now

AMA Association looking for Innovations in Sensors and Measurement

Berlin, 26 September 2014—The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement (AMA) is calling on innovators in sensor and measuring technology to compete for the AMA Innovation Award 2015. Submissions should be innovative and market-relevant research and development projects.

Individuals and developer can enter novel research and development projects with apparent market relevance to compete for the 10,000-euro AMA Innovation Award. Startup enterprises, no older than five years, can also compete for the special Young Enterprise award. The AMA will sponsor the winners of this category with a free trade-fair stand at the SENSOR+TEST 2015. The deadline for all submissions is 19 January 2015.
The AMA Innovation Award is among the most renowned prizes in sensor and measuring technology. It has been presented for fifteen years now for outstanding research and development achievements. The award goes to the developers and developer-teams themselves, not to the entities behind them. All the submitted projects are published on the AMA website as a brochure.

The jury comprises experts in sensor and measuring technology from universities, institutes, and enterprises. The jurors judge the submissions in regard to their scientific achievement and assess their probable marketability. “Every year, we get innovative submissions from all over the world,” says jury chair Professor Andreas Schütze from Saarland University. “Many of these are future-oriented projects from renowned enterprises and institutes, but from startups as well. To promote these young companies and to give them a good start on the market, we’ve created the Young Enterprises award category. The winner in this category gets a trade-fair stand at the SENSOR+TEST 2015 in Nuremberg free of charge. Nevertheless, these submissions still take part in the main contest for the AMA Innovation Award 2015.”

The terms and conditions as well as application forms for participation in the AMA Innovation Award 2015 contest and the special Young Enterprise category as well as the brochure of submissions in 2014 are available free of charge at http://www.ama-sensorik.de/wissenschaft/ama-innovationspreis/.

The final submission date is 19 January 2015. The nominees are to be announced at the Annual AMA Press Conference in February of 2015. The AMA Innovation Award will be presented at the opening ceremony of the SENSOR+TEST on 19 May 2015 in Nuremberg.
