Integrated Resource Technologies, Inc. (IRT) is a minority woman owned small business that supplies support service personnel to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Golden Field Office (GFO). IRT is seeking to fill a full-time Project Monitor position at our Golden, CO location. The mission of DOE’s GFO is advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies through laboratory collaboration, industry partnerships and business support. GFO accomplishes its mission by:

  • Partnering with industry and academia in joint projects to further development and facilitate commercialization of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
  • Administering the performance-based management contract for National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
  • Providing a variety of support functions to DOE’s six Regional Offices located nationwide.

GFO maintains expertise in engineering, project management, procurement, financial management, environment, safety and health, information resource management, law and public affairs through the services of 54 federal employees and 25 support service contract employees.

The successful candidate will work closely with DOE Project Management personnel. The position will close January 30, 2002. Salary range is from $45,000 to $55,000 depending on experience.

Position Description

Industrial Assessment Center Program Project Monitor

  • Education: BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years experience in project management, preferably with the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) Program or in the preparation of industrial energy, waste, and productivity audits.
  • Duties: Provide project oversight (monitoring) by supporting DOE Project Officers at the US DOE Golden Field Office in Golden, CO and the DOE Program Manager in Washington, DC to ensure that the IAC Program sponsored universities are fulfilling their obligations outlined in the Statement of Work. Duties include monitoring the activities of the IAC Field Manager, preparing cooperative agreements in conjunction with procurement personnel, maintaining a project tracking database, monitoring scope, cost, and schedule for the cooperative agreements, traveling to monitor the industrial assessments performed by the universities, tracking budgets, and performing a variety of program/project tracking exercises.
  • IAC Program Synopsis: The goals of the IAC program are to provide engineering students with hands-on training in manufacturing plants; assist manufacturers in energy, waste, and productivity management; and create innovative approaches to delivering IAC services. The IAC program enables eligible small and medium-sized manufacturers to have comprehensive industrial assessments performed at no cost to the manufacturer. Teams of engineering faculty and students from the Centers, located at 26 universities around the country, conduct energy audits or industrial assessments and provide recommendations to manufacturers to help them identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and save energy.
