STUDENT ORGANIZATION: Educators Rising – Launching AUGUST 2015

Educators Rising cultivates highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path to becoming accomplished teachers, beginning in high school and extending through college and into the profession.Educators Rising is not a club to which a few students join. Rather, Educators Rising is a powerful co-curricular instructional tool that is incorporated into the classroom. ER students have the opportunity to compete against other ER students in the state and at the national levels for scholarships, money and recognition. MAKE-UP WORK

REGULAR ATTENDANCE IS IMPERATIVE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A SATISFACTORY GRADE.

Make-up work for an excused absence should be made up according to handbook guidelines. (page 25) Failure to do make-up work according to handbook guidelines will result in a zero for missed work.

Make-up work is the responsibility of the student. Unexcused absences result in a grade of “zero” and cannot be made up.

TEACHER ACADEMY FIELD EXPERIENCESAND DRESS CODE

Field Experiences are a major part of the Teacher Academy curriculum; therefore it is imperative that students are present when these trips are scheduled. These experiences cannot be made up.

If a student misses a Field Experience, a doctor’s excuse is required or the student will receive a ZERO for that day.

All students must wear appropriate clothing for field experiences. Students will be given the choice to wear our Teacher Academy t-shirt, or to follow the dress code in the STAFF handbook for the Madison County School District. Failure to dress appropriately will result in a ZERO for the day. (The student will not be allowed to visit the classroom dressed inappropriately.) We will be visiting various schools within our school district and will represent our program with professional appearance and behavior. We will expect professionalism and hold students to high standards.
