All-State Women’s and Mixed Chorus 2012
Date:January 27-January 28, 2012
Place:Greensboro Coliseum – Rehearsals
Registration between 8:30-9:15 am on Friday, January 27
Meet me in the lobby around 8:45.
War Memorial Auditorium (attached to the Greensboro Coliseum) – Concert
Concert is 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 28
There will be an area in the lobby of the auditorium where you can order CDs or DVDs.
District Rehearsal: Tuesday, January 3, 2012
We will leave immediately after school and travel to GarnerMagnetHigh School.
Bring money – we will try to get a snack on the way to the rehearsal.
The rehearsal is from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. We should return to the school for parents to pickup by 7:00 pm. Please have your parents meet us in a timely manner.
This rehearsal is mandatory. Be sure to bring your music in a folder, a pencil and water.

You can make checks payable to RCHS, notated to All-State Choral.
T-shirts are $15.00. I need your money and size (small, medium, large) ASAP.
Order your rehearsal CD at: (Click here to place orders online; order 2012 All-State Rehearsal CD; click on your choral group and voice part). The 2012 CD should be showing up at the end of November 2011.
Please order your music at Click on State/Festival Lists, All Lists, in the festival lists pull down – choose NC, in the pull down choose your choir (All-State 9/10, All-State 11/12, All-State High School Women’s), order 1 of each of the pieces. You need to order this music ASAP. As of Oct. 20th, the 2012 11/12 Mixed Ensemble music was not there. It should be coming online soon.
What to bring/be aware of for the clinic:
Roll check will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of each rehearsal. Do not be late!
Cell phones should remain off during rehearsals and performances. There should be no text messaging during rehearsals.
Bring a water bottle, pencil, black folder with music.
Concert attire will be your RCHS formal wear.
Hotel:
Because this is also the weekend for All-District Band Clinic, Dr. Brown will be traveling between Raleigh and Greensboro. A parent will be needed to chaperone the two women singers and the one male singer for the weekend.
A block of rooms has been reserved by the North Carolina Choral Directors (on a first-come basis) at the ParkLaneHotel on High Point Road. The phone number is 336.294.4565. Many groups stay at this hotel (which is adequate) but the complimentary continental breakfast is often hit and missdue to the number of kids trying to get into the very small eating area.
Another choice would be Best Western Windsor Suites. This hotel also includes a continental breakfast. The upside for this hotel is the suite format and a larger eating area. The phone number is 336.294.9100. The hotel is located at 2006 Veasley Street, Greensboro, NC 27407.
