FRIDAY 6thOCTOBER 2017

Present:Rabia, Noorie, Rose, Shipa, Shalma, Shanaj, Jenny, Ruma, Denise, Dimitar, Cheryl, Helen, Manjit, Simon

  1. Sad news – Fazhas decided to leave the partnership and will not be returning after his sabbatical ends in February. The partners are in the process of agreeing the next steps for his replacement. Patients should not be informed at this stage whilst work out a clear communication strategy.

In the meantime, please ensure Faz routine appointments are booked with Emma. GPs are concerned that they are seeing lots of Faz patients, and we need to be stricter about sending directing patients to Emma.

  1. EQUIP (QI) Project Updates

E-Consults = Target of 10 e-consults per week by December (Jim leading)

  • Number of e-consults is gradually increasing
  • REMINDER: Most patients registering are in 20-40 age bracket, so we should target these fpr e-consult.

HUB Appointments = More offers and uptake of Hub appointments (Osman leading)

  • Need greater consistency with coding that Hub appointments offered and declined.
  • Reception to have a list of useful codes to attach to their monitors
  1. Flu Campaign
  • Walk in Flu clinic on Sat 7 Oct. Plenty of appointment availability. Please direct patients accordingly and vaccinate opportunistically. Reception to check pop ups to see if patients need flu vax and remind. Children’s vaccines also in stock.
  1. Text messaging
  • New iplato text reminder service is working well. Shanaj reported that 207 people had cancelled appointments via the service since it went live on 7 Sept. When patients text CANCEL the appointment is automatically cancelled in EMIS. Patients can also opt out of their influenza vaccines and leave Friends & Family feedback using the service.
  1. New registration slots
  • Cheryl reported waiting time of 1 month for registration slots. Agreed DP would review with his team.
  1. Local Population
  • Simon reported that Chrisp Street Market is starting it’s decant of several properties including Aurora and Clarrisa House. The market place redevelopment will include 650 new properties, a new supermarket and cinema. A high rise will also be built on the co-op car park site.

  1. HR

Annual Leave. Simon had circulated outcome of HR consultation. Additional leave has been added after 10 years and 20 years service. The All Festivals Day will now be incorporated into everyone’s annual leave at the start of each year. Proposed changes to the Excellent Attendance Scheme were rejected, so it will continue as it is currently. We asked about staff vouchers this year. Initial preference for John Lewis but Rose will email round so all staff can be involved.

Food.Discussed need to abide by policies and for hot food to only be eaten in the staff room, not at people’s desks. Also continue with our “foodless” reception area which is better for infection control and looks more professional.

Mobiles – all staff should give the practice bypass number if they need to be contacted in an emergency. Mobiles should be put away. In some instances staff may wish to agree with their managers to keep their mobiles on their person if something specific is happening.

Christmas Party – Helen reported party will be 15 December at the Space on the Isle of Dogs.

Secret Santa – agreed 10 POUNDS spend. Jenny to lead this year.

  1. COPD Event
  • Helen reported a successful COPD event had been held for those with long terms problems.
