Disturbance of the Gospel
DAY TWO
1 Corinthians 2:1-5And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.2For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.3I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling,4and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
1 Corinthians 16:19The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
Romans 16:3-5Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles;5also greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia.

Philippians 4:10-19But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.11Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.13I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.14Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction.15You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone;16for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.17Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Numbers 6:1-5Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,2“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to dedicate himself to the Lord,3 he shall abstain from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar, whether made from wine or strong drink, nor shall he drink any grape juice nor eat fresh or dried grapes.4‘All the days of his separation he shall not eat anything that is produced by the grape vine, from the seeds even to the skin.5‘All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall pass over his head. He shall be holy until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the Lord; he shall let the locks of hair on his head grow long.
1 Corinthians 3:1-6And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.2I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?4 For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere men?5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one.6I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.
1 Corinthians 16:12But concerning Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brethren; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.

DAY FIVE
Acts 2:1-4, 7-11, 14-16When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.3And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
7They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?8“And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born?9“Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God.”
14But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: “Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words.15 “For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day;16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:
Acts 2:37-41Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?”38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.39 “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Besaved from this perverse generation!”41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
Acts 8:14-21Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.16For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.17Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,19saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”20But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!21“You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
Acts 10:44-48While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.45All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.46For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,47“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”48And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
1 Corinthians 16:1-12, 19Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also.2On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.3When I arrive, whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;4 and if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me.5 But I will come to you after I go through Macedonia, for I am going through Macedonia;6and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I may go.7 For I do not wish to see you now just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, if the Lord permits.
8But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost;9for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.10 Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without cause to be afraid, for he is doing the Lord’s work, as I also am.11So let no one despise him. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.12But concerning Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brethren; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.
