Meeting Materials and Resource Sites:
MERLOT Voices IMPACTcommunities: IE2TE IMPACTcommunity Link
Agenda Topics
1. Introductions
2. Any Changes to Notes from Previous Meeting?
●Google drive is under program resources. Everyone has edit rights to add/revise materials.
oRick added to links/resources and IMPACTcommunity Voices site has pieces as well.
o(Gerry) If the goal is to build a collection, two purposes are connected. Industry experts are asking questions that may be different from faculty, so understand what is really important to industry experts and organize by FAQ angle. Secondly, those running programs that support industry experts, how can you use this collection to introduce small portions to users, to view when they can?
o(Jen) Information is out there but tough to get people to use it
o(Gerry) Market what we are doing to those administering programs supporting faculty. If you do it right the first time, it will save you time in the long run.
o(Lydia) Having resources that are pre-made, it would save so much time; Digital “one pagers” Best if we can figure out what exists, modify it, put it in a package that others can adopt/rebrand for their use.
o(Gerry)Top three skills/knowledge in the first three months? Focusing on high-impact information will be the most valuable and will narrow the scope of the work we need to do.
oTake the summer to sort through and figure out where the gaps are?
Next steps
In June, will gather resources and assess what we have. In July, identify gaps and begin to build initial starter kit for whatever we will pilot in September.
Need commitment from people to add to the resource collection. Another group to review the resources. Should we divide into categories?
(Maria) Will build files using the “delivery methods” categories, along with industry.
(Amanda) It will help us identify the gaps in July.
Will work on these things for the next two weeks.
No updates from Rick yet (about SkillsCommons) but he should have something to report in the next two weeks. We will revisit in the middle of August.
Maria will continue to add people to the IMPACTcommunity Voices site.
