A team of Special Cell led by Inspr. Badrish Dutt under the supervision of Sh L N Rao , ACP has apprehended notorious and desperate criminal Ajay Tiwari ( aged 32 years ) @ Ajju Tiwari @ Ajay Tyagi @ Sanjay @ Ajju Tyagi @ Abhay r/o Distt. Unnao, UP. He is involved in sensational 17 cases of murder, attempt to murder and motor vehicle thefts. Arms and ammunition has been recovered from his possession.

Information was received in the Special Cell that Ajay Tiwari would be visiting Burari chowk, Delhi to meet his associate in the after noon. On this information a trap was laid near Burari Chowk and Ajay Tiwari was apprehended. A country made pistol of 315 bore alongwith three live cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case under appropriate sections of law was registered at PS Special Cell, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi.

Ajay Tiwari was subjected to sustained interrogation. He disclosed that he began his criminal career in the year 1993 when he alongwith his associate Ubdesh Pandey fired at the local leader Ram Prakash Pandey of Firozabad from a country made weapon but Ram Prakash Pandey survived. Ajay Tiwari fled from village and came to Delhi and started living in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. In Delhi he came in contact with Sonu Babbar a bad character of PS Ashok Vihar and at his behest he brutally stabbed to death two girls Nilofar and Sonalika in the area of PS Ashok Vihar, Delhi in the year 1993. Ajay Tiwai had close association with Ubdesh Pandey, Brijesh Pandey and Avdhesh Pandey. In the year, 1993 because of village rivalry they kidnapped Ladi who was residing at Harinagar, Delhi in a truck. They stabbed Ladhi to death and dumped his body near Madraka, Aligarh , UP.

Subsequently in the year 1994 he came in contact with Shamsher Singh Rathore @ Pappu r/o Agra, UP and Arvind Sethi , who were involved in cases of Motor vehicle theft cases in Delhi. Both Ajay and Pappu were involved in 7 cases of motor vehicle thefts from different parts of Delhi. They disposed off these stolen vehicles in U.P. and M.P. In the year 1994 Pappu and Ajay were arrested by police of PS Paschim Vihar, Delhi. But they were released on bail in the year 1995. Subsequently, in the year 1996, Ajay and Pappu stole a car from the area of PS Badarpur, Delhi when they were going to dispose it off in UP, they were intercepted by police . They fired at the police team of PS Tajganj, Agra , UP but were apprehended after a brief encounter. Ajay escaped from police custody in 1996 from Shikohabad, UP. He was again arrested by police in the year 2000 and released on bail in the year 2003. In the year 2003, Ajay came to Delhi and started living in the area of PS Sultanpuri, Delhi. He planned to kidnap one Shailender a businessman of the area. Ajay called Shailender to his house and asked for extortion money to which Shailender agreed but Ajay killed Shailender. A case of murder was registered at PS Sultan puri, Delhi. In this case a lady and his associate were apprehended by the police but he was evading arrest.
