Dear IHM Family,
It is our great honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to announce to you that after much deliberation and research, Immaculate Heart of Mary School will be joining in the great Catholic school tradition of daily uniform dress for the 2015-16 school year. The results of the survey that was available at the November conferences, on the IHM website and sent to you by email show that 80% of you responded favorably to the uniforms and recognize that wearing a uniform gives our students a identifiable presence in the community. Rest assured your present uniform shirts and pants will stay the same as 65% of you are satisfied with the quality and the color choices- black, navy and khaki. Parents, you also responded favorably to being able to buy and shop with scrip cards and support a buy back program which led us to our choice of Land's End. Parents can receive 8% back for their tuition using scrip at Land’s End.
Over the upcoming Catholic Schools week, our families have the fantastic opportunity to participate in a pilot of our uniform program! This pilot program is OPTIONAL for any family wishing to wear a uniform daily during Catholic Schools week and for the remainder of this school year. IHM has partnered with Land’s End, headquartered locally in Dodgeville, WI to supply our uniform options.
We realize that upfront cost can seem expensive, but research repeatedly shows that families will see savings throughout the years. To assist in the successful implementation of our uniform policy, a very generous donor has made it possible that every IHM student receive a $50 credit to Lands End to purchase IHM uniform wear! An order form will be given to each child for the purchase of a uniform and should be returned to school by Friday, February 20, 2015. The $50.00 credit per student has to be used by this date.
A customized website for IHM School has been launched, cataloging the various approved options for our dress code. Logos will have to be added to shirts only. Jumpers do not need logos on them.

We selected Land’s End because the clothing is “100% Guaranteed. Period.” Many styles are available in extended sizes from slim to plus and husky. Land’s End Inlet on Junction Road and the Land’s End Shop at West Town Sears also carry many of our basic bottoms. Land’s End has one of the most generous Scrip percentages. Parents can receive 8% back for their tuition using scrip at Land’s End. Annually, Land’s End gives 6% of all parent purchases back to our school in a check to be used at our discretion.
This policy will apply to all students, K-8. Students in 4K or preschool have the option to wear uniforms.
For years, the possibility of implementing a daily uniform program has been a discussion at our school. We strive to characterize ourselves in the community as an institution of Catholic academic excellence, we feel that a uniform dress code will communicate that. The uniform program will foster a sense of cohesion within our student body and relieve some undue pressures that students face among their peers.
Our excitement is overwhelming and we can’t wait to experience this great step forward for our school and our children with all of you.

Complete the form- up to $50.00 per IHM student(s). Send in the form by Feb 20th. We will do the rest.
Parents may order more uniform items on their own.
Our donor will only cover the items that are turn in by forms- not ordered online and cover up to $50.00 per student.
You may order the approved jumpers, skorts, skirts, pants, shorts etc...
These are listed on the website. Your color options are the same as this year, green, khaki, navy and black. The white tops are new and go with the skorts and jumpers or pants. Students may still wear the green shirts and Khaki pants they already have too.
