2017 Artist Qualifications and Rules

Qualified residency required in Douglas, Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer, Ashland, and Bayfield counties in Wisconsin, and St. Louis, Carlton, and Pine counties in Minnesota.

Submission Procedure—

You may submit your entry form(and good quality 4” x 6” color copies or photos of your entries labeled with artist’s name, title of piece(s), dimensions of piece(s) and medium of pieces used)either on-line at: or to our Postal mail address: Exhibition Coordinator, c/o 1604 North 20th Street, Superior, Wisconsin 54880. Submission and/or postmark deadline is midnight July 07, 2017. If received on-line or postmarked beyond July 07, 2017, the entry(s) will be declined. Artistswill be notified of entry(s) status by July 11, 2017. Submit your forms earlier than the deadline, please. You could also send in the membership fee at that time if responding to the Exhibition Coordinator via the U. S. Postal service.

Size Requirements--

2-dimensional work must not exceed 34 inches in width and 34 inches in length

3-dimensional work must not exceed 34 inches in diameter including stand or base

Wall mounted work must not exceed 25 pounds in weight

Jury--

The Exhibition Coordinator will jury submissions. Please use good taste in your submittals as this is afamily oriented exhibition. Depending on the number of submissions, artists could be limited to 1 show piece or as many as 3. Please indicate on your entry form which piece is your primary work.

Sale of Artwork--

If you wish to have your Work(s) available for purchase, indicate the selling price on the entry form or NFS if NOT FOR SALE. Purchasers must deal directly with you, the artist. If you are not on site and someone wishes to purchase your art, indicate on the entry form if you wish to have your contact information made available to them. Several Works were sold to enthusiastic attendees at our last exhibition. Artwork must remain on exhibit for the duration ofthe show, 10AM July 12 through 3PM July 23, 2017. The RAV’N Art Group will not be liable for any damageto artwork during that period.

Deliverance Day--

Accepted entries must be delivered to the Old Village Hall in Solon Springs between 10AM and 4PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2017, unless prior arrangements have been made. There are no meters – ample free parking! We are also handicap accessible. The one-time RAV’N membership fee of $25may be paid at this time by check, cash or Postal money order;no debit or credit cards processed. A receipt and membership card will be issued to you for art identification and tracking purposes. Entries must be unpacked by the artist at the exhibition site, and be ready for hanging on a hook or display. Packing materials cannot be left at the exhibition site.

Exhibition Period--

The exhibit opens Friday, July 14, 2017 with a reception from 5 PM until 8 PM. The exhibit will remain open through Sunday, July 23, 2017, with a closing presentation taking place at 3 PM. Artists may pick up their artwork after that, up to 4 PM. Exhibiting artists are encouraged to attend the show as often as possible during the week and mingle with our visitors to talk and promote art including your own. There is always a need for volunteers to help out with the exhibition especially being a show monitor.

Judging--

The general public will judge. Their combined scores will determine winners which will be announced at 8 PM reception night. The top three choices of the judging process will win cash prizes.

Other prizes may be awardedat the 3 PM closing. We look forward to seeing you and your good work!
