RACE 1 – The Advocate JG 580M

Dark Gladiator was slow out. Soon after the start Chicka Scott crossed to the rail, checking Set Choice and Dark Gladiator. On the first turn Silver Strand, Hi Bella and Blinking Becky bumped, checking Silver Strand. Entering the back straight Silver Strand and Chicka Scott bumped, checking Chicka Scott. On the home turn Hi Bella and Chicka Scott bumped, checking Chicka Scott.

RACE 2 – Rapigel Juvenile 452M

Benzema went up the lids and as a result was slow out. Bit Hot Henry and Jonk’s Ginger were slow out. Soon after the start Winklea Bent and Chilliwack bumped. Approaching the first turn Chilliwack, Bit Hot Henry and Winklea Bent bumped, checking Winklea Bent and Jonk’s Ginger. Approaching the home turn Chilliwack and Bit Hot Henry bumped. On the home turn Bit Hot Henry crossed wide, checking Chilliwack. Entering the home straight Winklea Bent checked off the heels of Fighting Fang. In the home straight Blue McCool and Bit Hot Henry bumped. Approaching the winning post Blue McCool checked off the heels of Bit Hot Henry. Bit Hot Henry, Blue McCool, Chilliwack and Benzema raced wide in the home straight.

Soon after the start Bit Hot Finchy and Tad Chili bumped, soon after Alani Chaser crossed towards the rail checking Arnhem Warrior and Cosmic Ice. On the first turn Bit Hot Finchy, Tad Chili and Royal Surge bumped, checking Royal Surge and severely checking Alani Chaser who fell. Approaching the home turn Tad Chili checked off the heels of Arnhem Warrior. Designer Rush raced wide in the home straight. Royal Surge underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the right hind leg. Royal Surge has been stood down from racing for a period of 2 days. Alani Chaser underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the right hind leg and a small muscle tear in the right side of its chest. Alani Chaser has been stood down from racing for a period of 4 days.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute due to Townsville Thoroughbreds, Race 1, running behind schedule. Adam’s Flash was slow out. In the back straight Wynburn Joker checked off the heels of Gemstone Jack. On the first turn Gemstone Jack and Wynburn Joker bumped, checking Wynburn Joker, soon after Dynamic Vision and Adam’s Flash bumped, checking Adam’s Flash and Boutique Beauty. On the home turn Dynamic Vision and Adam’s Flash bumped. Entering the home straight Capetown Elusive and Lake Hylia bumped. In the home straight Bit Hot Rusty crossed towards the rail, checking Lake Hylia. Approaching the winning post Adam’s Flash and Boutique Beauty bumped.

RACE 7 – Virbac Devonport Tasbred Maiden Series Heat 4 Open 452M

Buckle Up Aspen was slow out. Entering the home straight Take Up Crash checked off the heels of Shanlyn Vapour. Hurt’s So Good underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to its left fore paw. Hurt’s So Good has been stood down from racing for a period of 3 days. Buckle Up Aspen underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to trainer representative Mr P Walker in relation to the performance of Buckle Up Aspen during this event. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Walker, steward’s were of the opinion that Buckle Up Aspen had performed unsatisfactorily, as this greyhound was beaten by 24 ¼ lengths in a time on 27.78, which is outside the required qualifying time for this distance at this track and took no competitive part in the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 71 Buckle Up Aspen has been stood down from racing until the completion of a steward’s satisfactory trial. Take Up Crash underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr PHili in relation to the racing manners of Take Up Crash approaching the winning post. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Hili, steward’s were of the opinion that Take Up Crash had turned its head inwards but failed to make head or muzzle contact with Shanlyn Vapour to its inside and by doing so had failed to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event pursuant to GAR 69(1)(b). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a) Take Up Crash has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, Devonport only, and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute due to Townsville Thoroughbreds, Race 2, running behind schedule. Soon after the start Pat Pines and Claire Delune bumped, checking Claire Delune, soon after Queen Ahmose, Old Fella and An That bumped, checking Queen Ahmose and An That. On the first turn Old Fella, Pendle Beri and Brumby Bomber bumped, checking Pendle Beri and Queen Ahmose. Entering the home straight An That checked off the heels of Old Fella. Brumby Bomber underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds on the right hind hock. Brumby Bomber has been stood down from racing for a period of 2 days. Claire Delune underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have grazes on its hind legs. Claire Delune has been stood down from racing for a period of 2 days. Post race swab samples were taken from Brumby Bomber the winner of the event. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms N Garwood in relation to the boxing manners of Claire Delune in that this greyhound, while being boxed,turned in the boxes on two occasions and was required to be re-boxed with assistance. Claire Delune also turned in the starting boxes once successfully loaded. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Ms Garwood, stewards were of the opinion that Claire Delune had turned in the starting boxes and as such has been stood down from racing until the completion of a steward’s satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 52(1).

Renewable Energy has been stood down from racing for a period of 7 days. Late Payment underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the right monkey muscle and right hind leg. Late Payment has been stood down from racing for a period of 7 days.
