Application Process Timeline

Parents,

Thank you for your interest in Lee Early College. Lee Early College is the third Lee County high school and is located on the Central Carolina Community College campus. Lee Early College offers motivated high school students:

  • A smaller learning environment
  • Five year plans toearn a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree
  • Acceleration and honors level high school coursework
  • Personalization
  • College Ready Preparation

In order to accept our new students for the 2013-14 school year, the application process will be as follows:

Beginning December 2, 2013 – Middle School informational presentations begin

December 16, 2013 – Applications available to students from Middle School Counselors and online at leeearlycollege.com.

January 14, 2014 – Information session at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 6p.m.

January 17, 2014 – Completed applications due to Middle School Counselors

February 20, 2014 – Student and parentinterviews

March 21, 2014 –Tentative notification for students accepted to LEC

Once you have received your application, it is important that you read the entire packet. If you do not understand all areas, please contact Mr. Testa at LEC or your middle school counselor with any questions.

As part of the application process, the following information will be shared from your current middle school and will be submitted with your application to LEC.

LEC participates in a lottery system, meaning that if you meet the requirements and complete the interview, accepted names will be placed in the lottery. Students may only enter LEC as an incoming freshman, and we cannot consider upper classmen for enrollment or transfer.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: By submitting this application, I understand the commitment of effort and time my student is undertaking, and that if accepted into Lee Early College High School the academic expectations will be honors level work for all courses. By signing below, I acknowledge that all information is accurate and complete (including the attachment of any active IEP’s) as stated within this application. I understand that the school operates on a college campus; as such, students are expected to be responsible members of the community. I understand that once students are enrolled Lee Early College High School, LEC becomes their assigned school. If a parent would like their child to be reassigned to another high school in the district, the school districts transfer procedures will be followed (Policy 4150 School Assignment, Reassignment and Transfer.) I understand that by attending LEC, I will not be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities on the attendance zone campuses; i.e. Football, Band, etc. I understand that by attending LEC I am willing to participate in the AVID support program. Additionally, I authorize the release of discipline, attendance, testing, exceptional education, and scholastic records to Lee Early College for consideration in the application process.
