THE MEMORARE: Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that it is a thing unheard of that anyone ever had recourse to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, and was left forsaken. Filled therefore with confidence in thy goodness, we fly to thee, O Mother, Virgin of Virgins, to thee do we come, before thee we stand as sorrowful sinners. Despise not our words, O Mother of The Word, but graciously hear and grant our prayer. Amen.

PENITENTIAL SERVICE:to comply with Pope Francis’ call for this to be here a Jubilee Year of Mercy, Bishop Peter will be in Luton on Thursday to lead a Penitential Service at 7.30pm in the Holy Ghost Church. Priests of the town will also be present to hear confessions. All are welcomed and encouraged to come and avail themselves of God’s mercy in this Jubilee Year and season of Lent.

LENT LUNCHES: Mass on Wednesdays in Lent will be celebrated at 12.00 midday followed by a simple lunch in the hall to support CAFOD. If you can help with one of the lunches, please sign the list in porch. Thank you.

CAFOD LENTEN FAST DAY:is on Friday 19th February. Please take a CAFOD (Catholic Association for Overseas Development) envelope home with you. We have a 2nd collection next week to collect them in.

NEW RITE OF MARRIAGE: the new rite of marriage comes into force from Easter which means the words the couple say have changed as well as some of the scripture readings they can have during the ceremony. Please check with Fr Chris or Deacon Jim before printing and order of service for your wedding.

ACT OF WITNESS: in support of life and against abortion outside L& D hospital Saturday 20th February 1.00-2.00pm. there continues to be hundreds of unborn children from this area and thousands nationwide, who do not come to birth. Please come to give them a voice and to pray for all those involved

REPOSITORY: Day By Day copies for Lent are available for infants & juniors priced 50p. Also are pens/stylus engraved with the church name priced £2.00.
