2Definition

Throughput refers to rate at which product is produced by hour or production run.

3Competence is to be demonstrated on at least three occasions of producing chicken nibbles.

Element 1

Prepare to produce chicken nibbles.

Performance criteria

1.1The production preparations are in accordance with the product specifications.

1.2The production preparations are in accordance with the company operating procedures.

1.3The production preparations are in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.

1.4The production preparations are in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and procedures.

Element 2

Cut chicken wings, using a wing-cutter, to produce chicken nibbles.

Performance criteria

2.1The chicken nibbles produced are in accordance with the product specifications.

2.2The wing-cutter is used in accordance with the company operating procedures.

2.3The wing-cutter is used in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.

2.4The wing-cutter is used in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and procedures.

2.5The wing-cutter is used in accordance with the company production throughput requirements.

Element 3

Pack chicken nibbles.

Performance criteria

3.1The chicken nibbles are packed in accordance with the product specifications.

3.2The chicken nibbles are packed in accordance with the company operating procedures.

3.3The chicken nibbles are packed in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.

3.4The chicken nibbles are packed in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and procedures.

3.5The chicken nibbles are packed in accordance with the company production throughput requirements.

Please note

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.

Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.

Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
