As a Retail Outlet Manager at Reliance Company Owned Retail Outlet at Sanand, near Ahmedabad - I’m responsible for below mentioned activities in and around the cluster of Sanand –
  1. Managing Daily Operations :
  • Managing the Outlet in accordance with the corporate standards set by Reliance Petro Marketing Ltd. and to help the staff to achieve the desired results in various segments like Sales / Customer Satisfaction / Product Standards for 100 % Quality & Quantity / Errorless Daily reporting / Errorless Accounting / Bookkeeping / Audits / Stock keeping / Indenting etc.
  1. Achieving Sales Targets :
  • achieving sales target thru various strategies
  • Market Research / Analysis, maintaining relations with Govt. officials, visits to targeted customer segment: Transporters, Villages, Industries, Travels etc.
  • Study competitor market share, their marketing strategies, data collection and defining our counter approach
  1. Human Resource Management:
  • To maintain a database of eligible candidates suitable for various posts at the outlet from nearby cluster for future requirement
  • To interview, scrutiny, selection, finalization of recruitment and appointment – to help to the labour contractor at the outlet
  1. New Market Development / Channel Development :
  • Explore various possibilities to expand the business by appointing small dealer outlets ( known as Farm Fuel Outlets / Rural Fuel outlets ) in nearby villages after coordination with Territory Manager

  • Help dealers for stocks, training of their staff, continuous up gradation to new methods and to help to decide better business strategies
  1. Public Relationship ( PR ) Management :
  • I arrange customer weeks / customer get-to-gather at our outlet to explain them various facilities offered at our Outlet
  • Creating awareness for Q & Q verification methods
  • New upcoming Schemes / various other benefits / Loyalty programs, if any.
  1. Competitor Study :
  • I continuously study and watch competition in our cluster and keep the higher authorities informed about the present scenario.
  • Make counter marketing strategies and put into action after due approval from HO / RO.
  • Preparing thorough Market Directory including all the details about the past and present Market and sales data of competition on regular basis and keep the HO / RO informed.
  1. Auditing / Surprise checks :
  • I conduct weekly / fortnightly and monthly audits at our outlets as well as other Reliance outlet in our territory for better implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • I also carry out surprise checks at our outlets as well as other Reliance outlet in our territory for assuring the best service standards from our staff on ground realities.
  • I send these reports to our Territory Manager who further escalates to HO and necessary actions taken if necessary.
In nutshell, I’m the profit centre head of this outlet and am responsible for all the activities running at the outlet and the cluster.
