Role Summary

Working Futures is an initiative supporting unemployed young people (16-29) across Merseyside. We are seeking an experienced coordinator to overseedelivery and monitoring of the Working Futures programme; an individualised programme of employability and progression support for NEET young people aged 16-29.
* The Working Futures project is part-funded by the European Social Fund and Youth Employment initiative

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities
  • Promote the Working Futures programme and develop relationships with referral partners, employers and training providers
  • Support audit of learner files, managing the quality of information recorded
  • Oversee delivery of training, ensuring all processes are followed appropriately
  • Manage the Working Futures reporting requirements including the preparation of learner files and paperwork for submission
  • Coordinate job clubs, employer visits and wider employer engagement activities (mock interviews, sector talks etc.)
  • Report on performance issues and highlight risks with referrals, learner attendance, progressions etc.
  • Oversee team meetings and support the team to plan and manage workloads
  • Undertake monthly caseload reviews with Tutors and provide support and guidance where required
  • Support training delivery where required and support Tutors to source progression opportunities, including work experience for learners.

  • Monitor the Working Futures programme budget for participant expenditure, travel receipts etc
  • To confidently engage with Employers and Training providers within the Merseyside area and build relationships that lead to placement and employment opportunities.

Safeguarding
  • Understand the Club Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills & Abilities
Essential / Desirable
  • Proven Project Management/Project coordination experience
  • Experience assessing the needs of 16-29 year olds who are disengaged from employment, education and training
  • Experience planning an individualised, flexible programme of support for NEET young people in accordance with their assessed needs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local labour market trends, occupational structures and able to draw down relevant data and information as required –
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and be able to prioritise your own work load. Ability to deliver outcomes on a short fixed term project
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Good IT skills- competent user of email, Word, Excel
  • Able to produce detailed monthly and annual reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Hold a project management qualification
  • IT qualification incorporating Database and Presentations
  • Ability / willingness to travel between different venues locally

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent communication, networking and presentations skills.
  • Experience in coaching and influencing.

Qualifications
Essential / Desirable
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • GCSE Grade A or B in English
  • Full clean driving licence with access to a car would be beneficial.
