Dear Parent/Guardian

We are pleased to inform you that your child has received or soon will receive a 5/6 week golf experience called ClubGolf through the Active Schools programme as part of their school curriculum (pending school engagement).

ClubGolf is Scotland’s junior Golf Programme which provides an opportunity for children to learn and play golf in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. As part of the Clubgolf development pathway designed to encourage pupils to continue their golf experience, we would now like to offer your child the chance to continue enjoying and playing golf through a structured programme atyour choice of venue in the Midlothian Local Authority Area.

As explained in the letter overleaf there are a choice of different venues where your child can attend their ClubGolf coaching programme. The Melville Golf Centreprogramme will be delivered by their fully qualified PGA or assistant professionals at their facility. The price takes into account the instruction from the PGA professionals, who have completed a 4 year degree qualification or are going through this course at the moment. This option is therefore more expensive than that of the other clubs who verysuccessfully utilise trained volunteer coaches in their ClubGolf programmes. Both are equipped with the skills to provide stage 1 coaching however the PGA professionals have a greater indepth knowledge of coaching having studied and qualified at a higher standard. Broomieknowe GC also utilise support from a PGA professional in a limited number of the sessions throughout their programme.
