Instructions-

  • Log onto MYSOCCERLEAGUE.COM.
  • On the top right hand corner of the page you will see the word SCHEDULE.
  • Click on SCHEDULE, scroll down and find the Salesian Boys & Girls Club Youth Soccer League.
  • This will take you to our league home page. Click on U-8 Spring Futsal 2015.
  • On this page you will be able to access the league schedule, standings, and coaches’ information.

*Since the league home page is accessible to the public, team rosters will not be accessible online for the safety of our kids.

RULES:All players who turn 8yrs old before August 1st will not be allowed to play U-8. Birth Certificates for all players will be reviewed prior to beginning league play.

1. The games will be played with a size #3 Futsal ball in two periods of 20 min. and a 3min. half time.The game clock will be continuous non-stop unless injuries occur. Stopping the clock will be held at the referee’s discretion.

  • Every coach is awarded a 1 minute timeout per game, to be used at his discretion.
  • Substituting goalies does not require a timeout, but the substituting team can’t huddle up and strategize with the coach while the substitution is taking place. The non-substituting can.
  • The clock will stop with every goalie substitution ONLY.

2. A team consists of at least 5 players (Max 10 on roster); 4 court players and 1 goalkeeper.

  • Prior to starting the gameALLplayers will be checked in by the referee.
  • A player MUST be on the roster in order to play. NO exceptions.
  • If a player is late and was not checked in before the game, he/she must check in at the scorers’ table before he/she can substitute into the game.

3. NO cleats allowed. Players must wear proper shin guards and same color jersey. Numbers are not required on jerseys. Goalkeepers must wear a top that is distinctive from all players. No casts allowed.

4. All games must start with each team having a minimum of 4 players on the court. If a team cannot field 4 players to start the game, they must forfeit.

5.ALL teams are given a 10 minute grace period from the scheduled start time to arrive and field a team. If ANY team fails to do so the game will result in a forfeit on their behalf. The winning team is awarded 1 goal and 3 points.

6. ONLYPlayoff and Championshipgames ending in a tie after regulation will result in a penalty kick shoot-out.

  • The players on the court to end the game must shoot first. The goalie that is on the court to finish the game must stay at goalie throughout the penalty kick shoot-out.
  • Bench players are required to shoot only if the first round of penalty kicks end a tie, the shoot-out will then go to sudden death.
  • During sudden death after all bench players have shot, all teams are required to follow the same shooting order they began with. Everyone must shoot again until a winner is determined.

7. Unlimited ‘flying’ substitutes: Players can re-enter the game as many times without notifying the referee, this includes the goalkeeper. Substitutions must take place at mid court. The exiting player/s must be completely off the court before the substitution can take place.

8. From a kick-off the ball must be played forward.

9. There is NO offside.

10. When the ball goes out over the sideline, a kick-in takes place. The ball must be placed stationary on the sideline and kicked in. All opposing players must be at least 3 FT. from the ball.

11. For a ball to be out of play or a goal scored, ‘ALL’ of the ball must be over ‘ALL’ of the line.

12. There is a 4 SECOND TIME LIMIT for all kick-ins, corner kicks, free kicks and goal clearance.

13. A goal CANNOT be scored directly from a kick-in unless it touchesANY another player. TWO touches.

14. A player can score direct from a corner and a direct kick.

15. Players are not allowed to play at the ball while on the ground, except for the goalkeeper who can only do so within the goal area.

16. NO slide tackling. Goals that occur on a slide or plays that involve a slide are left up to the referee’s discretion. Goalies CAN slide for a ball within the goalie box.

17. Dangerous play is NOT allowed.

18. If a ball hits the roof, the ball is awarded to the opposing team and placed on the touch line closest to the infraction

19. Penalty kicks will be taken directly from the free throw line.

20. Indirect fouls occurring in the goalie box will be taken from the spot of the foul.

21.ANY foul occurring on the court of play outside the goalie box is a direct kick.

22. The goalkeeper CANNOT throw, or punt-kick the ball over the half line, unless he bounces the ball on his side of the court first.

23. Goalkeepers throw the ball from the marked goal area to restart from a goal clearance. If they have saved the ball in general play at which time they can also drop or punt-kick it in play.

24. The goalkeeper has a 4 SECOND TIME LIMIT to release the ball unless they are in the opposing half of the court, at which they have unlimited time.

25. Goalkeepers are NOT allowed to pick up a pass from any of their team mates (back pass). Doing so will result in an indirect-kick from the spot of the infraction. Any technical foul by the goal keeper will result in an indirect kick from the spot of the infraction (ex. Goal keeper bouncing the ball more than once on a re-start).

26. During the game, the referee has the option of using 3 disciplinary cards – blue, yellow, and ared.

  • Blue Card- Player must sit a minimum of 2 minutes or until the opposing team scores 1 goal, whichever comes first. The penalized team must play a man down until the penalty time is served or the opposing team scores a goal.
  • Yellow Card-Player must sit a minimum of 4minutes or until the opposing team scores 2 goals, whichever comes first. The penalized team must play a man down until the penalty time is served or the opposing team scores a goal.
  • Red Card- Player is immediately expelled from the game. The penalized team must play a man down for a minimum of 6 minutes. The said player and/or person receiving a red card will also face disciplinary action. All suspensions due to red cards will be decided on by the disciplinary committee (Steve Alameda Boys & Girls Club Executive Director).

a)After 6 minutes the penalized team is allowed to replace the expelled player with a bench player if there is one available.

b)If a team does not have the minimum amount of players on the court (4) because of the red card then the team forfeits the game.

27. Referees have the right to warn, ask to leave or eject from the facility any player or spectator whom they feel is bringing the game to disrepute.

28. The referee’s decision is FINAL.
