ENVIRONMENTPOLICY

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

The Directors of Weir Waste Services Ltd consider that the protection of the Environment is comparable in importance to all other aspects of our business and we are committed to promoting the highest standards of Environmental Management throughout our operation on our facilities, the Highway and customer premises.

We believe that the best approach to meeting our Environmental responsibilities is to engage in constant dialogue with our Managers, Staff, Customers and External bodies toemploy a structured approach using effective systems and processes that are consistent across all aspects of our business.We consider that we are a proactive and supportive company to our staff, neighbours and customers. As a matter of course we believe it is our duty to reduce negative impacts and constantly strive to have a positive impact on our community, neighbourhood and the Environment.

TARGETS AND OBJECTIVES

We will develop & maintain a Environmental Management System satisfying the requirements of BS EN ISO 1400:2004, which forms the framework for continual improvement and the realisation of all company Environmental objectives and targets.

We will audit our operations both internally and via 3rdparty throughout the year and focus on key elements of Environmental performance such as the reduction of Greenhouse Gases, Carbon Emissions, Use of Fossil Fuels and reliance on Landfill.

The company intends to set the highest standards of waste management for the ConstructionIndustry and the CommercialSector in harmony with our surrounding environment. Using our objectives, targets and Key Performance Indicators we will minimise Atmospheric and Geological damage through the use of pollution prevention measures.

LEGAL and OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The company undertakes to comply with all legal and other requirements relevant to the Environment and to provide adequate resources for planning, provision and maintenance of environmentally protecting working conditions and systems of work.

We will promote a proactive approach to reducing the impact of our operations on the environment and understand that our business has an effect on our staff, customers and the local community.

COMMUNICATION & TECHNOLOGY

WWS will continually invest in the latest equipment and software to offer the highest levels of protection to all our stakeholders. This will be supported by constant coaching and training to all our staff, with the necessary resource, to ensure the safety of themselves and their fellow workers.

OWNERSHIP

The Directors and staff are fully accountable for the Environmental Policy and have in place a fully qualifiedEnvironmental team to ensure that all our legal and other responsibilities are clearly defined and monitored.All our staff are empowered to implement changes which will reduce our negative environmental impacts and have the full support of the Directors and Management team to invest in such changes.
