Weather and Climate Cereal Box Project

Name ______Block ______

As part of our Weather & Atmosphere Unit, everyone will complete a research project. The country you will be researching is ______. The project will be due on Wednesday October 15, 2014. The projects will be presented on Wednesday October 15, 2014 also. Projects will not be taken after Thursday, October 16, 2014. Not turning in a project will result in the grade of a zero.

We will use some time in class to research and gather information. The dates to work in the classroom will be announced by your teacher. However, everything will not be done in class. Some of the research and adding information to the box should be done at home. Remember that Wikipedia is not an accurate source of information! You must turn in a Works Cited page of the websites or other forms of information that you used.

Once you have finished researching your country, you will complete a cereal box as your project. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Cover a cereal box with colored paper or white paper. The cereal box must be a minimum of 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide.If you are writing directly on the paper, be sure to use a light shade of paper so that your writing will show. If you are going to type or write your information on another sheet of paper then paste it on your box, the background color won't matter.
  1. On the front of the box, put the country’s name, a hand drawn picture of your country, and a hand drawn picture of your country’s flag.
  1. For the back of your box, describe your country’s biome. Include what animals or inhabitants live in your country, and include pictures of native people or the landscape of your country. The pictures can be printed or hand drawn.
  1. On the right sideof your box, describe the climate of your country. Include a hand-drawn temperature chart. Can be any chart type you choose.
  1. On the left side of your box, describe the weather that your country experiences. Can be day-to-day weather, any weather phenomena that occurs, or any other information relating to weather that you’d like to add. Must include a graph on the amount of yearly precipitation that your country receives. Set your graph up with the Y-axis as Amount of Precipitation, while the X-axis will be Months.

I have received the rubric and information for the Weather & Climate Cereal Box Project. I understand some of the work must be done at home. The project is due Wednesday, 10-15-14. No project will be accepted after 10-16-14. No project will result in the grade of a zero.
