Primary Camp 2017

Applications are open forgifted and talented students in Years 5 – 6 interested to attend an exciting Arts Alive Visual Arts at the Beach Camp on 28 and 29 June 2017.

The camp will provide an opportunity for gifted and talented students to be involved in a fun-filled, challenging and stimulating art education program.

The camp will be held at the Avalon Recreation Centre, 59a Old Barrenjoey Road Avalon. As this is a non-residential camp, accommodation and meals are not provided.

Meredith Rasdall is the creative director of the camp. Tuition will be provided by professional artists and school teachers with specialised skills. Workshops will focus on developing knowledge, understanding and skills in the making of artworks and focus on the exploration of a variety of media, techniques and tools in the following areas: painting, drawing/mixed media, sculpture, and printmaking.

Where more than one student is nominated from a school, a priority ranking must be shown on the application forms. No more than four students can be nominated from each school. Students who attended the 2016 camp are not eligible.

Please note that the workshops at this camp are intense and require highly motivated and independent students. Please ensure that you nominate students who are gifted or have demonstrated high potential with their visual arts skills.

Cost:$230 GST Inclusive

This camp is non-residential and so camp cost does not cover students travel to and from the camp, accommodation or meals.

Eligibility:Students from Years 5 - 6 (gifted and talented)

Nomination Forms: A nomination form is attached. Please copy and distribute the form to interested students. No more than fourstudents from one school can be nominated. Where more than one student is nominated, a priority ranking must be shown, as not all students may be accepted.

Please note that numbers for the camp are limited and therefore not all the students nominated may be offered a place to attend. To assist the process of student selection please prioritise nominated students from 1 – 4 on the application form.

  • Friday 26May: Paperwork and payment due
  • Following notification of acceptance full payment, made outto NSW Department of Educationmust be sent to The Arts Coordination Officer, Level 2, 75 Talavera Rd, MACQUARIE PARK, 2113along with a Tax Invoice Payment Form which will be provided to you in the acceptance package.

Please do not send payment until you have notification of acceptance.

Please note:A 50% cancellation fee will be payable if a participant accepted into the camp withdraws from the camp less than one week from its commencement. There will be no refunds given due to student illness or misadventure.
